The Great Dechurching: is a book of about 240 pages that explores why many Christians in the United States are leaving organized religion.  As such, it is not an Adventist book.  However, it explores issues that are important to us as Adventists.  The link below takes you to an Adventist review of that book.  It is well worth reading.

The list price for the book is $30.  However, it may be purchased on Amazon, the Barns & Noble website and in a Barns & Noble store for $15.  The book is divided into four sections, which include: Profiles of the Dechurched, Engaging the Dechurched, and Lessons for the Church.  In a closing statement, at the end of the book, the authors say: "The Great Dechurching could well be the American church's most crucial moment and greatest opportunity.  As church leaders, we consider it the privilege of a lifetime to serve in this moment."  The question, as I understand it is: To what extent will SDA leadership use the information in this book to inform how we do mission and ministry?  My fear is that probably few of our clergy and leaders, will have any knowledge of the information contained in the book.
