Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted December 25, 2024 Moderators Posted December 25, 2024 The recent action of the Michigan Conference against the pastor of the Village SDA Church, near Andrews University has generated a lot of discussion. The following 52-minute video is an unofficial response to this controversy made by a member of the Michigan Conference. NOTE: He clearly states that it is not an official response. The following link takes you to an article that comments on the above video. https://spectrummagazine.org/views/analysis/michigan-conference-controversy-a-proxy-war-over-adventist-leadership/ Quote Gregory
Asia Joe Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 I thought there may be a topic here about the Village Church. I was not disappointed. From this video, we can see that the claims that P Kelly did not know his job was in jeopardy are clearly false. When you go against almost all the pastors in the conference, you can expect big trouble. The article on Spectrum was very well written. IMO, The Michigan conference did make mistakes, as the have in the past. They should have come right out and said, "P Kelly was discharged for not obeying the Conf. in disciplining one of the elders." This talk about administrative leave and other ambiguous language did not help the situation. However, They were correct in their action. Sadly, there appears to be a rebellious group at that church that in focused on fighting the conference to the end. I am glad I am no longer there. Quote
