☀️ 1 for the road: Spring sunshine math

A map showing how many hours of daylight were gained between the spring equinox on March 20, 2025 and the summer solstice on June 20, 2025 in the U.S. The southern part of the country gained up to 2.5 hours, while the middle and northern parts gained more than 3 hours.
Data: NOAA. Map: Jacque Schrag/Axios

Parts of the U.S. will gain three hours or more of daylight between Thursday's spring equinox and the summer solstice on June 20, Axios' Alex Fitzpatrick writes.

  • Northern latitudes gain more daylight in the spring compared to areas closer to the equator.
