Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted April 21, 2025 Moderators Posted April 21, 2025 Condolences: On a personal basis and speaking for Club Adventist, I extend condolences to our spiritual friends upon the death of their spiritual leader, the Bishop of Rome. He was a man who attempted to make the world a better place. At times he was misunderstood, including members of the Church of which he was the spiritual head. He mad e comments on the LGBTQ Community that upheld historic Roman Catholic doctrine, while he taught respect for individuals. His record, while sometimes controversial, will be discussed in the years to come. It will be of interest to see the Bishop next elected to the position will govern. Members phkrause Posted April 21, 2025 Members Posted April 21, 2025 He had great empathy for all people. A person to look up to and emulate!! Also very humble!! Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted April 22, 2025 Author Moderators Posted April 22, 2025 I would like to set in context, the place that the Pope had in the lives of people who are not of the Catholic Faith. I will quote one such person. She simply said: "He was a good person." That person was my wife. phkrause 1 Quote Gregory
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted April 22, 2025 Author Moderators Posted April 22, 2025 In the following Adventist Today article, the author, who is an AT Editor, comments on both positive aspects of the reign of Pope Francis, and areas in which he did not fully accomplish what was needed. https://atoday.org/of-pope-francis/ phkrause 1 Quote Gregory
Members phkrause Posted April 22, 2025 Members Posted April 22, 2025 Pretty Interesting article! I usually don't have much use for his articles where he just complains about the church!! Anyway he did a good job on this one!! Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
