Seeing it from todays perspective, it would seem quite silly. But obviously it was a big problem. Also, I'm wondering what different examples of modern day idolatry there are. So my questions are twofold: 1. What was the appeal of worshiping idols in the Old Testament times? 2. What are examples of modern day idolatry? Quote

Pockey Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 Ok, well help me understand that in this context: In the book of Joshua, Joshua was concerned that the children of Israel would turn to the worship of idols. What was the appeal of worshiping idols, knowing that there is a God, having seen His mighty works (parting the Jordan, destroying the walls of Jericho, keeping the sun and moon still etc.) What was the appeal and the benefit? And what modern day applications can we learn from this? Quote
