(AP) — As the colossal replica of the biblical Noah’s Ark rises incongruously from the countryside of northern Kentucky, Ken Ham gives the presentation he’s often repeated. https://apnews.com/article/scopes-monkey-trial-creationism-today-ken-ham-161a1071e95eef7242e2b4ce452ef4ea? Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted May 23, 2025 Moderators Posted May 23, 2025 I am not a fan of Ken Ham, Answers in Genesis, which he founded, or the replica of what he claims represents the Ark of Noah. I happen to believe the Bible, and I believe that Noah did build an Ark. I believe that Ken Ham misrepresents both science and the Biblical teachings. But I must acknowledge that his teachings are spread far and wide. He is providing alleged answers to questions that people want answered. He provides teaching materials on issues that we face in the Genesis record that are used in the Sunday School classes of Protestant congregations, and also used by SDA congregations in their Sabbath School classes. The SDA use of his materials is telling me that SDA congregations are not being provided with class materials that are thought to be needed by SDA Congregations. This thought is further developed by the fact that many SDA congregations in the United States have adult classes that study non-SDA books in their Sabbath School classes and do not use the Quarterly. I am not opposed to this, when those classes are conducted by mature members who are well grounded in the Biblical teachings. But I do not consider it appropriate for the children's classes to use the materials produced by Ken Ham. phkrause 1 Quote Gregory
Asia Joe Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 I agree with you, Gregory. I applaud Ken Ham that for years he has stood in the light of criticism unwavering. I hope his effort is inspiring others to promote the truth about creation. I believe, because of his effort and the efforts of others, there has been a renewed interest in this topic. It would be great if we saw a 1 out of 8 quarters in the SS study dedicated to this topic. Or at least one month a year. I would also like to see more evangelism based on this topic. I think the general public are ready. Quote
