Asia Joe Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 Since us Adventists can get quite old, and suffer eye problems, I thought I would share. Eye problems are often related to blood sugar levels. I monitor mine with a test called A1C. Aka Hemoglobin: A1C Test, Ha1c. The CDC recommends anyone over the age of 45 to get the blood test. It measures the sugar levels in our blood, averaged for the last 3 months. More accurate than a fasting blood sugar test. It is possible to lower blood sugar levels through fasting. That is what I have done. My A1c is less than 5. I have not changed my glasses in 10 years. There are reports by other people, including doctors, that red light therapy helps the eyes. I have tried it, but I find it a little harsh. Perhaps my light was too bright. Quote
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted July 25, 2025 Moderators Posted July 25, 2025 I have ARMD and GA, both of which are being treated by injections into the eye. NOTE: Until recently there was no treatment for GA. Mine is quite new. NOTE: Do not even think about such treatment unless you have excellent coverage, as both are very expensive. phkrause 1 Quote Gregory
