Neil D Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Trump Lets Troubled Miss USA Keep her Crown AP / Rick Maiman Tycoon Donald Trump showed off his softer side Tuesday morning when he told troubled Miss USA Tara Conner she could keep her crown. Many people thought Trump would insist the Miss Kentucky step down after bringing shame on the pageant he owns, by living it up in New York, but, at a press conference, the big businessman gave Conner a belated 21st birthday gift. In a move that even surprised Conner herself, Trump announced he won't be firing her as Miss USA, despite allegations of underage drinking, drug use and sexual misconduct. Trump said, "She's agreed to go into rehab. She knows that if she makes even the slightest mistake from here on, she will be immediately replaced. "I believe she can do a tremendous service to young people." A stunned Conner fought back tears as she responded to Trump: "In no way did I think it would be possible for a second chance. "I've had a very big blessing bestowed on me. It truly takes someone with a wonderful heart, a heart of gold and a blessed soul." Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted December 20, 2006 Moderators Posted December 20, 2006 She was quite naive as to the ways of the world, according to somebody on Larry King tonight who knew her. She came from a town of only 2400 people, and going to NYC and suddenly being in the "big time" took her off balance. Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional....
