Gustave Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 That was a nice article but would say the Papacy definitely proceeded 538 A.D. There are plenty of Faith Traditions who are literally as old as the Catholicism that readily admit the Pope existed from the beginning - it's just they would say that while they acknowledge the Pope had primacy (from the beginning) they would reject that the Pope had "supremacy". In any event Adventists who lived throughout Ellen White's life (and well after) were militant anti-Trinitarians and therefore they (and those who agree with the early SDA Church) fit the model of anti-christ far better than would the Pope. Still, that was a charitable article and I hope they treat the author right - that's the right direction of thinking in my thinking. Quote
