Kidnapped

Despite the dire circumstances, the pastor maintained his faith. He recited Psalms 23 and 118, sang hymns, and prayed aloud, offering spiritual comfort to his fellow captives. “They tried to make me stop singing and praying, but I could not remain silent,” he said.

Around midnight, one of the kidnappers attempted to execute him. “I was on my knees, and the gun was pointed at my head,” he recalled. “I closed my eyes and thanked God for my ministry and my family, accepting whatever happened. But the gun misfired three times, and confusion arose among the kidnappers.”

The pastor said that disagreements among the captors led to his release early on September 3. “Some wanted me dead, others wanted to demand ransom, and others suggested letting me go. In the end, they released me near Pétion-Ville and told me to call my family,” he said.

This is the secret. I have studied many kidnapping stories before moving to the Philippines. 

If you are kidnapped, that is the time for your faith to show. Pour out your heart to God. Do not be bashful. Let others know what we believe. Never be afraid.

The pastor emphasized the power of faith in overcoming adversity. “Even in the darkest hours, God gave me courage, peace, and strength to pray, to sing, and to share His love,” he said. “My faith never wavered. To Him alone be the glory.”

I am concerned as we go through the fourth turning that this violence will spread worldwide. 

Let us be ready. If you do not have a testimony prepared, now is the time to do it. We need to share what God has done for us.
