According to what I'm reading Michael the archangel was essentially a newly created "husk" or Avatar which creature-christ operated? I did a search for "became an angel" and was able to pull up quite a bit of documentation on this concept. I was unaware that Seventh-day Adventism believed that Michael was not existent when the angels sinned but instead was created when Christ sloughed off his divinity and became an angel and while existing as an angel operated the Avatar called Michael. It's going to take me a long time to sort this out - but it is interesting.

Hobie, EGW wrote some good books, or had her name attached to them. Ministry of Healing, Education, Counsels on Diet and Foods [a compilation]. Great Controversy is good as an introduction to church history. Depending on how you count them, I've read 50-60+ of her book sin their entirety, made hundreds of note cards. If you want to read theology, try Cranfield's Shorter Commentary on Romans and Luther's commentary  on Galatians. In some of her works, EGW apparently  didn't know what she was talking about.  You can learn similar rubbish from ministries like Amazing Facts. Her emphasis tended toward legalism. In some cases, she was a flaming legalist. Some have said her righteousness by faith writings, preserved in Selected Messages, volume 1, are peerless. Much of the confusion in Adventism has its origins in what Sr. White said. She gave good practical advice on ministry. Problem is that the denomination ignores much of her practical advice.
