Between Johannesburg in South Africa and Utah in the United States is about 16,000 kilometers, or 10,000 miles. Yet the news of the killing of Charlie Kirk on September 10 in Utah reached our shores almost instantly. Every death is regrettable, and every form of violence should be condemned—there are better and more constructive ways of settling political or any other differences.
