Why Are There So Many "Christian" Socialists?

Along with the question of why are there so many MAGA SDA, next question might be why are there so many Democratic Socialists?  Here and elsewhere either silent on the subject or promoting it

I don't think many in America think of themselves as socialists. Although in EU and Canada, there may be SDA's who consider themselves socialists.

There are many people who believe it is our duty to help others. This includes public financial assistance, immigration assistance and legal assistance.

They have a large compassion for people.

In how we accomplish this, is where many disagreements come in.

I know many people in America on both sides of the issue. They are not bad people. They are good people with different solutions. Some are very passionate about their views.

The new mayor of New York wants grocery stores owned and operated by the city ,that ought to be fun. Free child  care, free city buses , rent controls. He calls himself a democratic socialist which is like calling a pedophile a "minor attracted person"

This seems to imply that those that believe the system is highly abused lack compassion. I wonder if those promising "free" would instead say plainly  " I am confiscating  money from this group and giving it to you free"   Confiscate and free is not synonymous.

What do you think your reaction would be to " I am confiscating money from hardworking Joe Knapp, so I can give it to others that are not willing to work as hard ,instead it is always stated as free. A lot of people do not connect the dots There are SDA;s and other christians that support that concept and it has a name. You don't see anyone here denouncing those that want to take more and more to give to those who work less.  Those that do are denounced by this "compassionate left.I have a funny way of looking at things and believe God knew what He was talking about in 2 Thessalonians 3:7-8. Socialists and those that support them believe the government knows best. Doing what I believe to be right is not the same "compassion" as what the left considers right and moral. My husband and I along with countless others have put in 60-70 hours a week just so we didn't force Joe Knapp to show us compassion

I do not have a God given right to take forcibly from you no matter what you have.

The view that "compassion" is true "compassion" when forced is not biblical. The view that punishing the wealthy is not biblical.  Yet I suspect those that support by force feel just a little more righteous and compassionate than those who don't.

I unfortunately know of many around where I live! I view Liberalism as sort of a degenerative disease - the longer one wallows in it the sicker they get. There is nothing wrong with thinking progressively and outside of the nine dots, but this isn't where we find the common liberal today. Today we find the common liberal marching for what they call "their truth" or "them / they truth", militantly screaming that a rectum is a vagina if someone believes it is enough. Here is Seattle we have a vibrant "furry culture" that wear "plugs" with animal tails connected at the back. The plug is "inserted" and the tail is pulled through the pants so that it can be displayed to the general public. These folks scream to the high heavens that Trump is not their president. The rotting of society is difficult to watch, and I often wonder if my generation did grow up when life in America was as good as was going get.

I don't look at it that way. I have observed in America that increased taxes are always voted it. One time in my state, they made a law to reduce the property taxes by half. Within 30 days, there was a proposal in my city to put it back to full. It passed overwhelmingly in a special election.

The only solution I see to these high taxes, and generous social programs, is to move to another state.
