Since God is the great I AM, the Alpha and Omega, has always *been* and always will *be*....but He is not bound by time (and I do not believe He is), then could it be possible for GOD (not us) to be present in a time past? While we experience God as being in the *now* - could He also be in the past? Could HE be watching Jesus being baptized? Or be seeing Martin Luther nailing the 95Theses to the door? ....Or could He be in the future? Because the Bible *does* say, does it not, that our days were reckoned before we were ever born? Because He is infinite, He is present in the past as well as the present, and in the future. He 'was, and is, and is to come, the Almighty.' And we could already be in heaven, and not realize it. I'm not being satirical. Angel are God's messangers. That's why 2 Peter 3:8 says that with God a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day. He is the Eternal, the One who is beyond time, and knows all the details about both the future and the past. Other verses that teach this are James 1: 17; Mal. 3:6; and Is. 44:7. For Him it is in some respects as if the future already happened-- since all things with Him are as one eternal present-- and yet when things happen in the present, God still experiences them as the present. This should give us pause because we might think that our sins are forgotten simply by virtue of the passage of time, but we need to consider the fact that nothing at all is really forgotten by God. He forgives us and doesn't hold those sins against us, but in the judgment they will all be brought forth to testify against us if we are lost. While angels are not bound by the same physical laws as we are, they are not Eternal in the sense that God is. For instance, they cannot be in two places or in two time periods at once, as God the Father can. Also, unlike God, angels have a beginning and 1/3 of them will have an end. Jesus Christ has voluntarily laid aside certain powers and characteristics because for our sakes He is forever a man as well as God. So Jesus Himself personally is limited to being in one place at a time, although through the Holy Spirit He can be everywhere at once. Aliensanctuary Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 We don't really have much information about the physical characteristics, if any, of God. We do have the beliefs that God is everywhere simultaneously, that God knows everything, that God can do anything, etc. God is apparently an entity that somehow knows the future. Either he exists in the future and occasionally sends messages to our past via his messengers who are already here, or, he sends his messengers back in time. Maybe the Holy Spirit has something to do with this. What is a spirit, anyway? If God exists in the present, he must have some way to see the future. Sometimes I think things didn't turn out very good in the future, say, maybe evil triumphed and good was all but destroyed.
