Vito Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Anyone remember this evangelist from the nineties and his videos ? Quote
Stan Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Yeah, he conned one of my friends out of their retirement savings while buying a radio that said Jesus would return soon. He eventually repented, wrote a book, was accepted back in to Adventist with some conditions, as he could no longer work for the Church as a pastor. phkrause 1 Quote If you receive benefit to being here please help out with expenses. https://www.paypal.me/clubadventist Administrator of a few websites like https://adventistdating.com

No, he was nothing like David Osborne (who recently has sadly fell asleep.) John Osborne was an extreme "Historic Adventist" "LGP" to the point where he called the church apostate, Babylon and recommended people leave the church and join his organization and send him our tithes and offerings. He also tended to be an extreme fundamentalist, which is actually what brought him back to the church as he read where Mrs. White said that the church is not Babylon, and that while we may appear to fall we will not fall. I do not know what happened to him after he returned to the church. Last I heard he still had the same complaints of the church and was longing for a return to what he saw as "Historic Adventism" but since God spoke through the infallible Ellen White that the church is not Babylon, then, despite his views, he needed to remain a part of the church. Maybe others can expand or correct what I have shared here, but this is how I remember it. Sadly, I've seen more pressure inside the church to push us into his direction. Quote

Whenever I hear this I try to stay away from people like that, because something is definitely wrong with them!!
