What Do You Get Out of Church & Sabbath School—or Not?

Susie told me that social reasons top the list for why she attends on Sabbath. 

“I enjoy the fellowship of our adult discussion-based Sabbath School class. We spend the first 20-30 minutes catching up with each other, and we occasionally socialize outside of class. The discussion often nets new spiritual ‘ah-ha’ moments as well.”

She says that tradition and “doing the right thing” play a role. “I have wanted to model the habit of church attendance to my children,” she says. This is my criticism of the ____________ church members.  They go to church to get. If their needs are not met, they are unhappy. 

My wife and I go to church to give.  We have no expectations of getting.
