In some instances, it’s more grandiose than if he were a head of state! The host office brings local church leaders to the airport, and they parade to welcome the church leader. Pathfinder bands play, while troops of Pathfinders march like a military troop. As soon as the visiting leaders appear in the arrival hall or on the tarmac, there might be women waiting with flower garlands to adorn them. What follows is a program of welcoming speeches and parading, before the leaders are whisked away in a motorcade. In some countries where church leaders have relationships with the local or state police, the motorcade is escorted by police vehicles with sirens and blue lights as the leaders are driven to their hotel or to their first appointment. It is a very impressive and a sight to behold. 

Let's hope the new President does away with this.
