If this law is challenged it will be overturned as to harsh or cruel and unusual punishment.

Once a man whose wife was having an affair found that the offending party can be imprisoned. He filed charged based on that law. The police did not want to file charged but he insisted. This law was brought to the attention of the state lawmakers and they quickly overturned the law before it became a sticky mess in the courts.

I do not expect anyone to go to prison for aldultery in Michigan. Stats say that 50 percent of married people men and women have an affair. If this law was strictly enforced than half the population of michigan would soon be serving life terms in prison.

Are you sure those stats apply to Michigan cyberguy ?

Are you suggesting that the Andrews crowd would be immune to marital unfaithfulness? Or lower stats? Hmmmmm . . . I wonder. Seems I heard awhile back, that Adventists have similar issues.

You mean that the SDA Church hasn't reached perfection yet?

OH, come now! But your post referred to AU. Perhaps the stats show a different percentage within those hallowed halls. One would certainly hope so!! Although I still remember with shock and amazement an encounter I had with a woman in another SDA University, decades ago. She invited me to prayer meeting, with her Bible in hand, but then afterwards wanted to engage in activities which were not, erm, consistent with that Quite a jarring surprise indeed! One never knows.

All progress in the Spiritual Life is knowing and Loving GOD

"there is non upon earth that I desire besides YOU" PS 73:25

That perspective changes EVERYTHING-suffering and adversity are the means that makes us hungry for GOD. Disapointments will wean us away wordly occupations. Even sin(when repented of) becomes a mechanism to push us closer to HIM as we experience His Love and Forgiveness.

I guess it takes two to want to restore a relationship - so if one does not, the Christian experience of the other can hardly be held up as somehow lacking.

(been there, done that)
