Moderators lazarus Posted February 1, 2007 Moderators Posted February 1, 2007 Twenty years ago the "atmosphere" surrounding the GC seemed to be in alot more turmoil than there seems to be now. There were demontrations outide and GC sessions and councils. There were problems with independent ministries, David Koresh like groups, the womens ordination issue. There was talk of conferences splitting from the main body of the church. Scandals about misapproriation of funds, sex and other stuff. Things seem alot quiter these days. It seems like the GC must be getting things right. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence. Einstein
Moderators Nan Posted February 1, 2007 Moderators Posted February 1, 2007 Just a thought - are some of those issues/groups just doing their own thing these days and effectively bypassing the GC? That is not an aspersion on the leadership of the president, whom I respect. Quote
