Resurrection/Easter Eggs?

I ran into this in a store recently. Never heard of it before but it seems to have been around a while. Instead of easter eggs for the kids, you can now have "resurrection eggs".

Easter, like any holiday, is what one makes it. My family will be celebrating the resurrection this weekend. Without the resurrection we have no hope. Religious people that are against Easter, Christmas and numerous other festive occasions are what drives our young people away from the church.

Don't be discouraged my friend. The Adversary has worked his way so well, people deem the symbolism meaningless in today's society. There is a deep lack of understanding.

So many consider it kind of like the tales used to frighten children... nothing to it.

Until you've had the demonic walk up and look you in the face, pronounce their name, and suddenly had it hit you between the eyes that Ashtoreth is real and exists still, until the end... then yes... resurrection eggs seem harmless enough... along with all the other trappings of easter.

I was just talking to my wife about this topic. It is her opinion that we should not take away the good times from our kids. But we should replace the wrong meanings with spiritual meanings. For instance ... the Easter Eggs and colors ... can be used in a spiritual way.

The Devil has highjacked enough good things. We need to take them back. We do not worship the way some of these old meanings of things imply. We need to use these symbols in a new and better way. And not just cave in to the Devil.

And you don't think that the being who exists and who was known by the name Ashtoreth doesn't just cackle with glee because it's symbols are being white-washed and mixed up with the truth and resurrection of Jesus?

Clio .... I just don't think we should let the Devil take over. For every spiritual event there is a counterfeit. I think for every secular event there should be spiritual counter. Our kids are going to follow one or the other. Let's give them a good choice.

When an object has been used to deify a satanic power it becomes in it's symbolism an avenue or channel through which that power can work.

I wouldn't for any reason whatsoever take that chance with my precious little one's spiritual well-being.

Ashtoreth still exists, is still worshipped by people today using all the symbols Christians claim are "cleansed" by assigning Christian meaning to them.

And Ashtoreth must just be delighted at the avenues this opens into the spirits of the children.

Certainly those with a background in witchcraft cannot so easily celebrate a holiday that means something to the pagan world. Those of us that have never been involved with witchcraft do not have to deal with those issues.

The holidays we observe celebrate faith, national heritage or family. Our faith holidays are St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Reformation Day and Christmas. Our national heritage holidays are Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. Our family holidays are such things as St. Valentines Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, birthdays, anniversaries and graduations.

If one studies the various pagan religions of the past they will discover that every single day of the year has been celebrated as a holiday in some pagan religion. So there is not any day that is safe to celebrate anything without it being done on some pagan holiday. That includes the seventh-day Sabbath. It gets a little ridiculous trying not to celebrate on a pagan holiday. What is important is how we celebrate a holiday, not on what day we celebrate.

I'm a walking contradiction. I some how cannot let go of Christmas, but Easter for some reason, I just don't feel comfortable with it. Of course, we celebrate the Resurrection (especially through the celebration of Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which has been a huge blessing in our family this week!), and we'll join extended family on Easter Sunday and enjoy a nice meal, and my mom will give the kids Easter Baskets, but we haven't given our own kids Easter gifts or dye eggs or so any of that on our own. I feel kind of squicky when we get Easter eggs and bunnies at church. I know that the people who give it to them mean well, though, so I don't let it get to me too much.
