delta Posted December 16, 2007 Author Posted December 16, 2007 I would say Amen to the following testimony........ "Loma Linda has lost their vision and mission God given them. Look at that, when there's nothing wrong in celebrating His first coming...how much more, however, Loma Linda should continuously and more serious about preparing people for His second coming. But now, too much money, time, energy spent merely for Christmas while at the same time more than 25 years now Loma Linda Church has been rejecting and ignoring to proclaim the Three Angels' Messages on purpose. "Have you ever seen Loma Linda participate in any Satellite meetings now? Have you ever heard Loma Linda using their Sanctuary at least for Daniel and Revelation seminars? "Unfortunately, most Adventists would probably seems like Waldensians today of which they're still exist in various regions, but has lost their vision and mission." "And now, let's come all ye faithful-Joyful and triumphant-Come ye and behold Him to Bethlehem.....but also don't forget and be faithful that We Have This Hope that burns within our hearts.... ...What hope is that?"" Woody Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Quote: Loma Linda has lost their vision It seems like they are doing a lot of work towards their mission/vision. What is missing is that they are probably not doing YOUR vision. Quote: when there's nothing wrong in celebrating His first coming Yes, the fact that Jesus came to this earth and created us and many others wonderful things IS something to celebrate. And we as SDAs celebrate that "first coming" by Remembering the Sabbath of which he created on the Seventh day as a remembrance of all the "good" work that He had done. I don't see anything wrong with that. It is VERY Adventical. Quote: rejecting and ignoring to proclaim the Three Angels' Messages on purpose I am sure you believe that. I am sorry. But could you provide some proof with cites for us? Do you believe the chruch is now Babylon? Quote: "Have you ever seen Loma Linda participate in any Satellite meetings now? WHY? Satellite meetings have proven to not be as effective as live ones. And in Loma Linda they have a wealth of good live speakers. So again WHY would you do Satellite programs? Quote: Have you ever heard Loma Linda using their Sanctuary at least for Daniel and Revelation seminars? Why would you impose that priority on their vision? Quote: "Unfortunately, most Adventists would probably seems like Waldensians today of which they're still exist in various regions, but has lost their vision and mission." Again ... they may not have YOUR vision. Are you trying to impose YOUR vision on the church there? IS that what this is all about. Does your criticism help the church? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Taylor Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Loma Linda has many fantastic things going on. They have had incredible speakers (live is always better than video or satellite, even though satelite evangelism is incredibly good.) They graduate many doctors whose sole goal is medical missionary work and they are signed up for a 6 year term with the GC upon graduation. They are actively involved in Bible studies, in group vespers and group worships and prayers circles. I have first knowledge of all these things and I can say that while there is always bad with the good there is an incredible lot of good at Loma Linda! Fact is, in many aspects, with the students at least, there has been an increase interest in spiritual things, in missions, and in knowing God as their personal friend. Of course this does not apply to all students but it is an encouraging trend to note. It is much better to light a candle and add to the light around us than curse the darkness. We must each ask ourselves, what are we doing to encourage spiritual growth in all our churches. A critical spirit dries the bones and does not inspire to follow the Lord. Quote
