Monkey wenches, indeed! But as for calling the rest of us landlubbers--well, have YOU lived on a boat as I have? Have you been caught in life-threatening conditions of wind and wave, as I have? Have you had to navigate your boat through breaking following seas, then had to take those breaking seas beam on, as I have? When you have done stuff like THAT, then mebbe you can call the rest of the blokes landlubbers. Dave Quote

whbae Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I think you guys are talking about two different kind of titles. Redwood wanted his ancestorial title(Swiss/Swedish/American) back. He is tracing back his blood line title just like black people who think all the blacks here in this country were born in Africa and emigrated America and became American citizens thus entitled to be called African/American. In fact, Majority never even seen the country of Africa and how can they call themselves African/American. These titles are reserved for those who were born in a foreign country and emigrated and became a US citizens. If Redwood was born in Swiss or Sweden to Swiss/Swedish parents and came over to this country and became a US citizen then, his entitled to this "title". The other title, some are talking about has nothing to do the blood like. It is a social title. Each culture has different custom and different kind of title which should be honored. In Jesus days, people did not have two names, just like olden days in Scandinavia. When one is a son of John he became Johnson. So, every one was called by a first name. Some cultures do not call elderly people by their first name only out of respect. Here in this country, any thing goes. Won Quote

Woody Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 Welcome Won. From another WON. (Love WON another) On the other hand ... I don't know why I should welcome someone who would not allow my rightful heritagal rights to be called a Swiss n Swedish American. That is my God given right. But, since my signature is Love Won Another .... I will try to practice what I preach. BTW ... I do actually agree with you. But since the privilege is routinely abused ... I will do it also. Amelia Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 If I were to use a heritage title it would be something like this: English,Scots,German,Polish,Norwegian, possibly Jewish,???, American. teehe Quote <p><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="font-weight:bold;"><span style="font-style:italic;">"Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you."</span></span> Eph 4:29</span><br><br><img src="http://banners.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetemp_both/US/OR/Fairview.gif" alt="Fairview.gif"> Fairview Or</p>
Woody Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 Sorry Amelia ... that it just too long and will not conform to the rules of CA regarding a proper heritage title. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Woody Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 Oh Amelia. I'm so sorry. But maybe we should start a rules committee that could review the old stale rules that restrict heritagal freedom of expression. Should I start a new thread to nominate committee members? whbae Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 My title is very simple. Korean/American, but for my children it gets longer. They would have to say; Korean/Norwegian/American. When my grand kids get their kids the title will be even longer. Won Quote

Moderators Bravus Posted February 8, 2008 Moderators Posted February 8, 2008 I like my title on here - it's the core of who I am. I could probably go with 'Irish and English Australian' or something, but although that's descriptive it's not the key to me. Quote Truth is important
