Maybe it's the threads that I am seeing, but there seems to be all this stuff about how bad some individual or church is....a lot of negetivity.... Of course, I haven't been posting and making controversial statements either..... So, maybe I need to make some controversial statement...? David Koot Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Ford vs. Chevy? Man, what you talkin' about? Detroit products? A vintage Benz has got either one of them all beat out. But if you really MUST compare the two Detroit products, Ford has a stronger drive train, longer stroke but a little slower, higher torque and THIN wrist pins. Chevy has a shorter stroke, little lower torque but higher top end, thicker wrist pins, stronger motor, runs a little hotter, tends to fall apart WAY before a Ford. Dave Quote

My last car would go 6-8000 miles without an oil change and yet, ran like a kitten until the day it got rear ended! I owned it for just about 10 years and when it got rear ended it still ran! Lil Star Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Yes, you are correct, they always had a ford on the farms where I used to live. I have a friend that swears on a Ford. He will not purchase anything other than a Ford. He got a lil upset with me for getting a Chevy made car. Even though it does not say Chevy. Oh well. The last foreign made car lasted for me. Can't seat an adult in the back seat comfortably; no cruise; no up-and-down adjustment for seat (I need a pillow, and I'm 5'4"). Dealer can find about $300 worth of services to do every time we take it in. It's a 2001. The paint never looks shiny, always dull. One time, my aunt who had always had a Cadillac, was asked by her brother if she liked her "Ford." which was a Lincoln. She was mortified. She didn't know Ford made Lincolns! Nobody in the family had ever had Fords!! Quote
