No wonder you can say, 'It's only money.' Lemme tell you about a good nonprofit you could make a real difference for. Don't spend, contribute. : Well, RNs get more money than RTs, and yet we have nearly the same education. While they are the 'drug pushers", if you really want to save a life, you need to breath...and that is what RT's do...We save a life and we make people breath again...The median range for an RT is around 43-47K. And that is depending upon what they are doing/who they are working for. And an RN salary range goes from 50-55K.... Back in 2002- "The median compensation package for senior pastors of Protestant congregations has risen just above $40,000 for the first time, according to data produced in annual surveys by the Barna Research Group. At mainline churches, senior pastors have a higher median salary--$45,510--reflecting higher figures for clergy with seminary degrees, a longer time in ministry and at larger churches, according to the polling firm...." and back in 2002, RTs were making about the same... Neil, that's GOOD MONEY! Like I said, share the wealth. Instead of spending all those smackeroos so quickly, how bout helping a small nonprofit get off the ground? Just think of the tax benefits, besides! Oh, as for SDA preachers, I think they make around $52k a year, something like that--plus all the benefits. Maybe Laz could speak to that. Dave Quote
Neil D Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 This is where I got my information...and seems to be rather accurate according to the west coast and the various hospitals that I am keeping a check on.... http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=Respiratory_Therapist/Salary So, no, I ain' t makin' the boo-coo bucks that you claim.... David Koot Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Hey, how come West-coasties are paid less? Looks like Boston is the place to be for good pay. Boston or NY. Bet housing is even higher back there though. BTW I wonder how housing costs are in the State of Jefferson? Quote
Neil D Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 BTW I wonder how housing costs are in the State of Jefferson? They suck!..... Ashland is the highest price seniors market...Only seniors can live there, as they have all thier money made and can afford it. Ashland has closed one school here because young familys can't find a place to live.....hence, fewer children...hence, one less school..... Medford has a house for sale on every block....and in some cases 2 or 3....and I am told by the county clerk that there are some 'bargins" out there....but they are in the $200-250k range....Shoot, I can 't even afford that.... Amelia Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Wow, Ashland didn't use to be that way. Use to be a hippy town. When I was in college it was cheaper for 3 or 4 kids to rent a house than stay in the dorms. Unless I go to the outback...and I don't see too many jobs for an RT there...unless I want to resuscitate gekos... Planey Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Yeah, house prices (particularly in places like Sydney and Melbourne) can be outrageous. But who would want to live in Sydney or Melbourne? Prices are much more reasonable in some country towns. There are even some reasonably priced houses to be bought in some delightful coastal towns. Australia is a big place, there are towns with nice properties from Western Australia right around through South Australia, Victoria, NSW to Queensland. Not to forget Tasmania which ia absolutely lovely. If you want my recommendation (although why you would I have no idea) then WA (Western Australia, not Washington) is the place to go. Western Australia is what God used to model the garden of Eden on, but He didn't quite capture its true beauty... CyberGuy Posted April 12, 2008 Author Posted April 12, 2008 Gas prices are at $3.70 a gallong for 87 octane fuel and $4.26 a gallon for regular in our are. Arco has a $3.66 a gallon for 87 octane fuel. That is the cheapest in my area. Looks like it is on track for $4 plus per gallon by the summer. Quote Riverside CA
Lil Star Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Ha! I think we should all get a bicycle! We would all get exercise, save money on gas prices, get some fresh air, help out the ozone layer among other things. I think that would be even better than the differences between the car and the motorbike. No gas to be had or taken, no one would really get hurt if we all drove the bicycles to and from work. Think it would be a much better place! No more smog!!! Quote
CyberGuy Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 That is $4.26 a gallon for Diesel. Quote Riverside CA
CyberGuy Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 Not all smog comes from Cars unfortunately. Factories produce smog and power plants produce smog as well and even Oil Refineries produce smog. Unless we give up using electricity and natural gas and go back to fireplaces and candles for lighting we are going to have to live with Smog. Quote Riverside CA
CyberGuy Posted April 19, 2008 Author Posted April 19, 2008 Gas is 3.80 a gallon and Diesel is $4.36 a gallon Cheapest gas I could find was $3.72 a gallon for low octane fuel. We are well on our way to $4 to $5 a gallon by mid summer. Quote Riverside CA
