It is if you can handle lots of slugs everywhere in the rainy season, plus the fact that your clothes never seem to dry completely during this time. (I had a friend who lived in the Belgian embassy there.) You might decide that the positive aspects outweigh the negative. You have access to two oceansides and volcanoes, which is cool. Lots of rainforest! I also have another friend who used to live in San Jose periodically while taking courses. She didn't like the escalating crime, but then escalating crime is everywhere. My clothes never dried on the line due to the high humidity but dried out well in a clothes dryer (I had to take them to a laundromat). However if I lived there, I wouldn't be able to earn what I earn now and live the lifestyle I live now. So I think either Australia, Italy or Greece would be the countries with tropical conditions where I could earn a good living. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... So I guess I am looking at a few things. 1. Size and activity of the Adventist church 2. Availability of health care 3. Cost of living 4. Climate 5. Economic opportunity 6. Standard of living The Adventist church is active in Texas. Health care in Texas is good. In the area where I live, many wealthy Mexicans come here for health care. The cost of living is among the lowest in the US (even after accounting for lower wages). The climate is mild in the Winter but hot in the Summer. The Texas economy has done better than the national economy for a long time. The standard of living in Texas, like the rest of the US, is well about most other areas of the world. So it is hard to think of a better place to live this side of heaven. Of course most people want to live where their immediate and extended family lives. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor...
