Pope Benedict XVI says your life depends upon worshiping on Sunday.

That's certainly interesting. I wonder how they harmonize that with the separation of church and state. Probably economic reasons given.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

I think lots of people will be amazed at how things can change when we're put in some severe crisis. Based on what Revelation says, it seems obvious to me that it'll be some kind of economic/energy crisis that will cause the issues regarding the Sabbath to be brought out into the open.

When I was growing up here in Portland, Oregon; I remember our downtown area being a ghost town on Sundays. Also when the first shopping mall was constructed it wasn't open on Sunday. You were hard put to find a grocery store open on Sunday and there were no cartoons on TV on Sunday. Course that has all changed now. But it was a slow change.

Hey John maybe you are right. We are entering a new era, a New World Order. I ll do my best to spread liberal democracy and capitalism acros the world since history has proven that these systems are the best systems for wealth, human rights etc. I think that the crisis is the beginning of the end of the totally free economies. I think Multinational corporations will be subject to international law. I also believe that the governments will have more control over the banks. This means that in this new era the government can make regulations about who gets what. Now in case of a huge economic crisis, causing all kinds of turmoil; wars etc., governments will not have a lot of patience when people refuse to labour on the sabbath day. The United States is a very divided country filled with dumb fundamentalists. The only country where it is possible for governments to make ape-like decisions in world politics because the inhabitants are too stupid to revolt. America is filled with Joe the Plumbers. I ll tell you, if Obama doesn t win these elections, America won t be able to remain a superpower, because China will take its place. If the prophecies of this church are really true, i don t think there is much time left because the bible says that the second beast out of the earth, will have a tremendous influence to force sunday worship. This cannot be easily done when the USA is not a superpower anymore. Economist estimate that in two years the Chinese economy will be larger than that of the States. Anyway to me it doesn t matter anymore. For me, personally, if all these things are true, it s way too late. It doesn t matter though, i am too tired of life. I wish i could just fall asleep and never wake up.

We all long for Jesus to return so that we don't have to live in this sinful world. But we are to occupy until He comes. By doing this ... we can honor and glorify God.

Good to have you here TruthSeeker. Glad you are doing good these days. God be praised.

What do you call a good day? Anyway i ve decided to use my economic insight to become a millionaire by using the stock markets. At least i ll try. These days stocks are very cheap. Once the economy is under control, i am able to receive a lot of cash, which i ll invest so i ll get more cash etc. I want to become a billionaire so i can do whatever i like. I have only good intentions though. Giving shelter to homeless kids, giving money to animal rescue organisations etc. that kind of stuff. I really feel that making money is my calling...That s kind of strange, because i never really cared about money...

John Paul II gave was to emphasize teaching so that all may be one. But Benedict is turning around and saying to churches, 'you aren't all one.' It is destroying the ecumenical movement....."

Where is that interpretation where the guy said there are only 2 more Popes left. He said this next Pope would be the one that "continued for a short time". Then the next Pope would be the Devil himself.

Now if this Pope gets assassinated for messing up the ecumenical movement, then he will indeed have continued for a short time.

The Jesuits have poisons that make a death look like cancer or heart attack or something else. And I have heard that several Popes have been poisoned for not going along with their agendas.

[color:#BF0000]Rev. 17:9 And here [is] the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, [and] the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

Where is that video? It's on youtube. He said they became kings when they got a kingdom. That would be the now sovereign state of Vatican City. That event was 7 Popes ago, including the current.

So if this guy gets poisoned, the next Pope, according to this interpretation, will be the 8th Pope. Which is of the 7. The guy said it would look exactly like John Paul, so that's who everyone will think it is, which is sort of an abomination, I guess.

Not that I believe it, but I have considered it. It was actually kinda spooky.

Any day is a good day. It is just that sometimes we don't feel good. Change scenery, do something out of the ordinary, call friends and talk to them. But don't just brood because you feel bad. Feeling good is sometimes a choice we make. Ask God to change the way you feel.

Sorry to be off topic but I saw this comment by Truthseeker007 and could not help myself reply to his comments.

As for worshiping on Sunday, I think that the end times are upon us with Sunday worship coming into effect in Europe, the financial crash of the world, and other things -- like the large earthquake in China.

I wonder if what he said has a double meaning?

Gerry

Is this referring to.... ? And what would the second meaning be and where would we get to the second meaning?

Yes, it was the same here. Sundays was a day when not much was happening downtown, but it is a lot different today. Very busy now.

That is also being noticed by the churches. People are going out to do business instead of going to church and this has a lot of church leaders unhappy. How can they make a decent living with people spending their hard-earned money on Sunday in business instead of in church?! I've read that this is one thing that will drive the churches to seek support from the state to compel people to go to church.

John 3:16-17

Forcing businesses to close on Sunday wont put people in the church pews. Are they going to force the sports leagues to stop having games on Sunday too?

They don't have to prohibit sports. The original Sunday law actually allowed farmers to continue their pursuits, but not stores and city businesses, which would probably include factories. They might even get Wal-Mart to shut down, but to shut down the airline industry, would probably not work at all.

But production now occurs 7 days a week. How is it going to help the economy to shift production to 6 days a week? It's not only about working people, but about the use of the equipment too.

If such a shift is made, it won't be long before Sabbath keeping is no longer tolerated, for 2 reasons that I can think of right now:

1. Sabbath keepers testify against Sunday keeping, by saying Sunday is the wrong day. That's very annoying.

2. Shutting down on Sunday will put a big hurt on production. Disallowing Sabbath keeping will be necessary to balance it out.

Quote:
Constantine decreed (March 7, 321) dies Solis -- day of the sun, "Sunday" -- as the Roman day of rest [CJ3.12.2]:

On the venerable day of the Sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country however persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits because it often happens that another day is not suitable for grain-sowing or vine planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost.

And following suit:

Quote:
"Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday, the Sabbath, but shall work on that day; but the Lord's day (Sunday) they shall especially honor, and, as being Christians, shall, if possible, do no work on that day. If, however, they are found Judaizing, they shall be shut out from Christ."

---Canon 29, Council of Laodicea, 364 C.E.

Oh Please. Let's pray they don't do that. I love watching my Pro Football on Sunday. I have the Sunday Ticket and watch or keep track of each football game on Sunday. Go Niners.

Rush i agree with you on this matter. I also don t believe that the interpretation of these bible texts should refer to popes. Rather i believe it refers to the succession of kingdoms. The eight king (kingdom) is of the seven because i believe it is referring to the New World Order in which all of the seven empires are integrated. Revelations says that the beast ( Catholic Church), which was and is not and is not yet to come, is from the seven. This means that the Catholic church has adopted all of the seven empires in their secret policy of the Jesuit order. I believe that this is the only way these texts make sense. Never in the bible is a beast referring to a person. So therefore i believe it is a personal interpretation to refer to a pope...

Well Sunday is my fun day. It is great to take the family out to the park, the beach, fishing, a picnic, play mini-golf and of course, watch professional football where grown men beat each other up trying to carry a ball to one side of the field.
