fccool Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Nevertheless, I think it's a valid question. She spoke 6 minutes before she was told it was a prank. Do you think that a politician with experience would fall for this? If a guy with a French accent can do that, imagine what real politicians and lobbyists can do to sway her opinion. Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted November 4, 2008 Members Posted November 4, 2008 Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, is exempt from being taken in by a prankster. The candidates are out there in public, meaning most anyone is able to ask them questions. Once the president and VP are in the White House, the number and who of the press corps gets honed down quite a bit, and only certain areas are allowed to be questioned, or so it has seemed in previous administrations. Seems to me that for not wanting sexism to become part of the race for the presidency, it certainly has become such. It wouldn't be so funny if Hillary Clinton had been the butt of the joke, now, would it? .... Or, perhaps, it would have? Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Neil D Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 Sorry, Rudy, but I can't believe that someone with the qualifications of a CEO in the energy field, would not understand that when clues are embedded into the prank that would clearly indicate that the call IS a prank, and yet she falls for those clues as gospel,...why that is just an indication that she doesn't know squat. She's an ambitious little baracuda who will do anything to get her hands upon the power of this country and ruin it. Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Dr. Shane Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 She obviously was either just being nice to someone she thought was a head of state or she couldn't hear very well - more likely a combination of both. She went along with hunting from a helicopter and Nailin' Palin by Hustler as being a documentary of her life. She didn't answer the phone to take a pop quiz on foreign policy. I noticed she sounded of good spirits when she asked what radio station it was and only got off the phone when she realized it was from Canada. Had it been an American city she may have likely made a campaign pitch for some votes. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Neil D Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 Well then, Shane, she is definately out of touch with reality.... ....and yeah, this is "gotcha prank" at it's best....better than "gotcha media"..... Neil D Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 No, that's the excuse for hiding behind not knowing who is who in celebrity and political circles...And she heard at least some of it, and she still didn't know....Not a smart cookie... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw
Dr. Shane Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I suppose she also believed that Hustler's "Nailin Palin" was a documentary of her life. Obviously not. Good grief, will those that hate Palin stop at nothing to destroy her? Compared to Palin, John Kerry had a cake walk with the Siftboat Veterans. What makes me most sad is to see how ideologues can consume the raw hatred fed to them. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Neil D Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 It's tain't hatred, Shane....it's the fact that politically, she's dumb...If she loses this race, if McCain doesn't win, she's going back to Alaska...and there, she will have to face her voters....and they will reject her...Mark my words... Neil D Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 Yeah? As a politician, she's stupid. She left her mayorial city over a million dollars in debt BEFORE she should have build a sewer plant for the city. Now the Lake near her home is fowled...She made rape victims pay for thier rape tests....If the Alaskans vote her back into office next time, they deserve whatever happens to them in thier state... jasd Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 RE: STUPID I'd lay 5-2 that she's smart enough to utilize a spell-checker - and to know when and how to act with genteelness... Sheesh! talk about a noisemaker! is there a knob to turn down the obnoxious? no knob for that? how about the odious? none there either? Oy! Kafkaesque morphism - in spades. jasd Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 >>...she's qualified for VP????<< Umm, the perception is that someone (who? :-) labors under an unhealthy emotional attachment re the caustic and negative fixation displayed towards a woman. Obama spent a 143 days in office with no executive experience - that's nil. That's four months plus change. Yeah, lots of qualification there for the number 1 slot on the ticket. Some ticket, some promise. Yikes! Sheesh, "I despair for my country." --Red, Right and Blue. That said, for selfish reasons - those being me and mine - I wish Obama sunshine on his shoulders, clear skies, and a straight path... Quote
Neil D Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 It's all about love... I am glad that there are others in the political realm who see this as I do... Consider, Shane, that Utube is showing some talking heads that are in agreement with me...Palin lacked intellegence for the job of VP. Politically, she was dumb...that maybe a bit crude, but voters are not as blind [aka viewing the world thru political glasses] nor lacking in percieving the intelligence of others as some holding the republican line here on C/A. Dr. Shane Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Quote: I am glad that there are others in the political realm who see this as I do... Christ Matthews is a liberal ideologue. I assume that many other liberal ideologues are glad he is on the air at MSNBC. I noticed that both of his guests in the clip are closer to the center than Mr. Matthews is. Quote: Palin lacked intellegence... Politically, she was dumb... Palin is an "ol' boys" politician... She's ignorant... that means she's a snake... All that based on hearsay coming from someone looking for someone else to blame for McCain's loss. Furthermore, Palin has denied that the claim is true. Basically we have some McCain operatives saying a bunch of bad things about Palin in an effort to take the blame off themselves for McCain losing. Palin is saying that what the McCain operatives are saying is not true. The media is lapping it up as if it was spoken by God. This is a "he-said-she-said" story and some of these accusations are so outlandish that anyone with a bit of common sense is going to be skeptical of them. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor...
