On the more positive side:

That God doesn't torture (and therefore probably expects us not to either) (actually, there are other Christians who know that too)

That we aren't an immortal soul stuck in a gross cage of flesh, but one being, created by God, fallen but redemptible

Praise the Lord ... our church is moving away from the 'yo-yo'isms. But I guess we could add that Only Adventists would know what yo-yo-isms are.

I get your point but it is also true that as a church we do not believe in once saved always saved. It is a daily experience and a choice to choose to be saved. What is "once and for all" is Christ's sacrificed for us....which makes salvation always available provided we want to be saved. But God forces no one...so a person who was once 'saved" and chooses to not "go to heaven" is "out of salvation."

It has nothing to do with 'once saved always saved'. That was not even mentioned. One does not have to believe in 'once saved always saved' to be opposed to yo-yo isms.

an "engagement watch" to be worn on the right wrist

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

This is the silliest thing I ever heard of- could never understand it. I get that a watch is not the symbol that the ring is... To me it seems almost like an imitation ring.

Personally I would never wear either a ring OR a watch. I would rather have...

I guess I don't understand what is meant by "yo-yo-isms" except to say that we aren't "once saved always saved". It is true, we aren't once saved always saved, because we can decide after being "saved" that we don't want to be saved. People constantly make those decisions. But God's sacrifice is always available for or salvation provided we want that salvation. But there will be people who are eternally lost becuase they truely don't want to be saved. God is fair...he never forces anyone..even when he is right and heaven is wonderful. That is what I meant.

(The topic of the "unpardonable sin" is another topic....:) )
