It's fairly well known that most long-lived online communities tend to have about a 90%/10% ratio of lurkers to posters. No-one really knows why, but I've tried to convince Uncle Neil before that it's a form of chauvinism to assume that posting is the normal mode of life and lurking is deviant. On the contrary, it's the posters who are not 'normal', at least in numerical terms (judging their normality in all other terms is left as an exercise for the reader).

This is a classic example of a 'put-down' that scares people away! (smile) A good teacher is not afraid of a bit of silence. A good teacher will ask questions that require thought and then give ths students a bit of space. A good teacher will invite thought and participation like.. Now that sounds like a really good idea. Trouble for me is that when I'm a little heavy it's hard to agree that you don't need what I have to offer. Guess it's a really good idea to ask the Father when we should just listen and when it's a good time to let our light shine.
