So what happened to you today?

Nope. And she has a hubby to shovel snow for her. Put on chains for her and drive her when she is to scared to.

I went out and started the car and turned on the window heater to thaw the ice. Then did what I could to remove some of the snow without a shovel. Then scraped the ice off ( I do have a bearclaw ). After that I tried to rock the car out of the snow and up to where some of it has packed from trucks and couldn't get it to budge. Just spun the wheels like crazy. So then I looked into taking the bus. Well, with so many of the routes cancelled I can get to two stores. Maybe that will appease her. It will probably take me all day just to do those two stores by bus anyway.

Today...

Was off from work (yay)got up same time to finish shopping (boo)

Before 8am, realized there are limited supply of wood pellets (what my mother uses for main heat source) and had to track down pellets...went back home to get truck, hubby popped bonnet to check oil/won't close ( gah ) and ended up tying the hood/bonnet down to the bumper (sigh). Drove 25 miles to where the pellets were, stopped along the way to get hood fixed and check tires (pellets come in 1 ton pallets). Pick up pellets, go back to my mothers, unload pellets, grab lunch, come home, fix a dish for hubby's family Christmas Eve gathering and here I sit typing...will prolly crash when I get in the car to drive 60 miles to party...Ho Ho Ho... surrender

Have fulfilled my seasonal dreaming of a white Christmas - white sandy beach, that is! Spent a couple hours relaxing at the beach this morning and came back and had fish and chips for lunch and took a dip in the pool with the kids.

Sounds like fun Tom. Hope it's not a red Christmass (sunburn). :)

OK, Yesterday my town and nearby city declaired a state of emergency because of the storm and all the snow. And those of you who live in heavy snow areas don't laugh. We don't get weather like this so the state/cities don't have the equipment like you do.

Anyway, My boss calls and says that the trucks will be going out today to deliver so I had to do my stores tomorrow (wednesday). I said I am still burried and didn't think I could get out. She got all angry and said to get off my a_ _ and dig myself out. Well I don't have a shovel. She said to walk to the ^@)(&%@ store and buy one. Sad to say I don't have chains or studded tires or even winter tires. Just plain ole tires. How am I going to drive on packed snow and ice with those? So now she is all [censored] because she got to the office and other people got to the office and I was the biggest wuss ever. Needless to say I am about this far from telling her to go jump in a frozem lake. I have a little car. Not an SUV. Not a truck. No 4wd. Nada.

Just how demanding can a company be?

You Pacific Northwesterners ... just need to toughen up. lol

Just kiddin ya. I am sorry fur yur troubles. You have a mean boss. Why don't you just replace her?

Join the Southern Hemisphere (or tropical, I guess) Christmas traditions! Maybe not as romantic as a white Christmas, but there's definitely something to be said for it. We went to Sue's sister's place for Christmas yesterday, with a massive family gathering. We wandered home after 9 hours, having had enough, but the party was still going strong.
