True-believer Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 I love cooking, and I love inviting people over for dinner so I can cook for them. I like to cook all sorts. I cook spaghetti, and steamed vegetables or boiled, and depending who comes around I either cook vegetarian or with clean meat like chicken, beef, lamb. Actually you are not a true Australian if you don't eat lamb. Lamb is the meat that is widely used here by everyone even the media uplifts lamb a whole lot more than the others. Ba ba ba ba -- I think i'm turning sheepish -- ba ba ba ba Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Moderators Bravus Posted February 27, 2009 Moderators Posted February 27, 2009 Oddly I get an 'access denied' message when I try to get to the secret recipe! But I think we can take the cooking topic broader than one recipe (without getting quite as broad as Paul Harvey's denominational status!) I cook but I don't bake: the three girls in the family love to bake, so I let them do that. I like cooking that doesn't require too much weighing and measuring: the unit you'll see most often when I write a recipe is 'some', as in 'add some chopped onion'. I cook by taste and by instinct, so you have to know how much 'some' is in order to make the flavours in the dish balance out right. I often end up cooking a vegetarian version of a dish for my vegetarian daughter, and a meat, chicken or fish version for the rest of us, but a lot of the time we just all have the veggie one. Lots of pastas and stir frys, a couple of curries and so on. It's all fun. Quote Truth is important
Members phkrause Posted February 27, 2009 Members Posted February 27, 2009 I love to cook, made a banana bread today and had some for dessert after dinner. Oh man was it good. You'll all just have to imagine in your mind's eye and in your taste buds. hahahahahahahah pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Moderators Bravus Posted February 27, 2009 Moderators Posted February 27, 2009 I'm currently enjoying leftover Nutmeat stew - for breakfast! Quote Truth is important
Members phkrause Posted February 28, 2009 Members Posted February 28, 2009 What's nutmeat stew? Is that nuts and meat cook together? pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Cosmin M. Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 Yup. I checked it out on Google. Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted February 28, 2009 Moderators Posted February 28, 2009 Heh, nah, sorry to disppointment, but Nutmeat with a capital letter is a veggie product of the Sanitarium Health Food company (owned by the church) here. It's goood... Quote Truth is important
Members phkrause Posted February 28, 2009 Members Posted February 28, 2009 Not disappointed at all prefer Vegetarian food. So is nutmeat the correct spelling. I remember a nut.... something that we used to get here but its been discontinued a few years ago. But maybe its the same stuff! pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
