Urgent Prayer Request for my Mom

Recommended Posts

Posted

My parents live a very long ways from where I do. My Mom is on her way to the hospital with an apparent stroke. Before they closed the ambulance doors my Dad prayed for her and he said he doesn't think she knew who he was. Her left hand was paralyzed. I am praying it isn't a hemorrhagic stroke. My Dad is on the way to the hospital to be with her, driving there by a friend. Please pray for my Mom and Dad!

Mom is going into surgery in a few minutes, but the prognosis is very grim. Basically it will take a miracle or she will be either deceased or a vegetable. There is very little hope. Please keep praying, especially for my Dad who is normally a very strong person emotionally but he is so sad right now. They've been married many years and truely spent most of their time together working. My Mom has always been my Dad's secretary and helper in every way.

Thanks so much Stan and Liz for your prayers and support.

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Taylor,

I'm sorry to hear. I'll be praying too.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Thanks so much everyone! Mom is out of surgery but prognosis isn't known for 48 hours but not much hope, but she did survive surgery, so that is good. This will all be so hard on everyone, but especially my Dad. Thanks for prayers.

Dad is at their home trying to rest. His spirits are better, so thanks for your prayers. He is anchored in Jesus but this is hard on him. No news on Mom..i.e. she is the same.

If anyone needed our prayers ... these dedicated people do. Taylor ... I am SO sorry. I am really praying. And what good news that she survived the surgery. Keep us informed.

Hey Taylor, I just saw this. I was out of town yesterday. I am praying for all of you. Are all your siblings out of the house?

It's very possible most will be praying for a return to health, Taylor, for your mother. And most sons or daughters might be considered delinquent for asking anything less. I am asking that the Lord's will be done with this thought in mind.

"THE RIGHTEOUS man perishes, and no one lays it to heart; and merciful and devout men are taken away, with no one considering that the uncompromisingly upright and godly person is taken away from the calamity and evil to come [even through wickedness].

He [in death] enters into peace; they rest in their beds..." Isaiah 57:1-3 AMP

I'm speaking from the perspective of having a 91 year old mother and perhaps your mother has many more years for which she might be looking forward. Whatever the case, I'm positive the prayers of the faithful will give to your mother and family, that which will bring the highest honor and glory for our Father in heaven.

Keep looking up! prayer

Thanks so much everyone for your prayers. I really appreciate them! Yes, God could do a miracle. I do believe that and I will be very happy if He does heal my Mom. However, I also realize, that we live in a world of sin and often things do not go the way we wish they would. We live in te land of the enemy but God is good and He has the final word. God will heal my Mom, whether now or at the second coming. It is just to us to trust that He knows what is best for her. Yes, it hurts, yes it is sad to see my Dad suffer and see my Mom in a coma but God is greater than our pain. I just heard a sermon two weeks ago where the speaker had lost their son in a tragic accident. One day the parent drove to the mall and was getting out of the car when the sorrow hit them so hard that they sobbed for an hour and thought they would throw up. Suddenly it was as if they had an impression from God "I am so very very sorry. When my son died it hurt so bad I thought I could have thrown up as well.". God knew I needed to hear that before this happened to my Mom. He is ultimately in controll and he does understand the pain in our hearts. I am heading to my parents house in about 18 hours and will be with them for about a one week. Then my brother goes down. My brother is older, but he thought I needed to go first and this way we can cover them for a longer period of time if we take turns. Thanks for all your prayers and support. It means a lot!
