Woody Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 What do you mean? That you have a 'balanced' approach to ear rings. Two would be okay. But 22 would not. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators Bravus Posted March 5, 2009 Moderators Posted March 5, 2009 Different people have different thresholds. As long as we all realise these are taste judgements, and our own tastes don't directly reflect God's, we're all good. Quote Truth is important
GreatLakesGramma Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 My personal taste is only one pair, and only in the ears. That is what I grew up with (except back then the earrings weren't pierced), and anything more looks unattractive to me. But then, I am a lover of simplicity. I prefer the natural look best of all. Cosmin M. Posted March 5, 2009 Author Posted March 5, 2009 My mother used to have piercings before she married my dad and became SDA. Quote
Liz Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Personally I think one should be 18 before they get piercings or tattoo's anywhere. And then it should be up to each adult how many and where and so forth; but my goodness picture number three just makes me cringe. This also reminds me of a funny story--and I can't condense anything, so ya'll will just have to bare with me.... When my kids were very very little, I wouldn't let them say anything negative about anyone, no pointing or such, if they had to say something negative they had to wait until we were out in the car. My daughter was around 4 years old when we went into a Barnes and Nobles. The cashier had a piercing in her nose/nostril spot. This was the first time my daughter had ever seen such a piercing, and she says: Daughter: Is that like an ear ring in your nose? Cashier: Yes, it is. Daughter: It is very pretty. Cashier: Thank you. Daughter: I would like to get one too. Cashier: Really? You think you would like one? Daughter: Yes, only I want mine to be green. (Green was her favorite color at this time.) Cashier: You want a green nose ring? Daughter: Yes. This is the point that it struck all of us what a green nose piercing would actually look like on a person. I laughed till I cried. Liz Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 A green nose ring on just one nostril.....would look like a booger. Administrators Gail Posted March 6, 2009 Administrators Posted March 6, 2009 Great story, Liz! It's great that you remember it! Do you remind your daughter every once in a while or mercifully not mention it? Liz Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 mercifully not mention it? Now what kind of mom would I be if I didn't say "Hey, remember the time...." every time we go near the Barnes and Nobles? Liz Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Hey Doug, some of those tattoo's were a little raunchy. But there is absolutely nothing funnier than a misspelled tattoo....did you notice the "I'm Awsome" one? Wouldn't you at least make sure that your tattoo artist could spell? Too funny!
