Perhaps some of the reason some are offended is because in telling what Jesus is doing for and in me isn't made plain that it is only by Jesus intervening in my life that any good is accomplished. OTOH there will always be those who are offended by another's bold testimony. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." LifeHiscost Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Quote: Many are afraid to boast because they might offend someone. IF we could just boast in the generic sense of what God has done for us instead of feeling the need to make everyone SDAs vs. Christians .... we might have better success. Just a thought. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."Matthew 5:16 KJV When your only avenue to communicate is the written word, as is so on this forum, what would be a better way to give God honor, than the written expression of faith? "Some were being persuaded by the things spoken, but others would not believe." Acts 28:24 NASB "But he said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.'" Luke 16:31 NASB Regards!! LifeHiscost Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 there is no 'one' way to do it. TU Just as everyone is a unique individual, all have the right to accept or reject. Thus it was when Jesus spoke and thus He desired it to be 'til He comes back to claim those who will have indicated their desire to follow Him. "The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water, so I will not be thirsty nor come all the way here to draw."" John 4:15 NASB Regards! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
LifeHiscost Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Quote: I really don't like to sit in judgment on the way others testify and share their faith. I don't like to pick up the pieces of the eternal damage that happens when it is done in an abusive way. "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?"Matthew 7:3 NIV This points out the need for inspecting one's own eye first. I'm trying to differentiate between what's happening here in this thread. Because it's an internet forum we can only see some of the evidence of a plank. Perhaps there are some here who only have a speck????? "Love....is ever ready to believe the best of every person....."1 Corinthians 13:7 AMP Regards! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
