Outta Here Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I'd like to know what difference it makes in having the duo-wheels in back rather than in the front. We saw one of these on the road last Sunday: Can-Am Spyder Quote

cardw Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I'd like to know what difference it makes in having the duo-wheels in back rather than in the front. We saw one of these on the road last Sunday: Can-Am Spyder If you have the single wheel in the front the vehicle is very unstable on turns and has a tendency to tip over. The Carver solved this problem by allowing the trike to tilt, lowering the center of gravity like a motorcycle and making it more stable in turns. If you don't tilt they put the 2 wheels in the front making it more stable. The main reason companies are making these three wheel is that they are classified as motorcycles and don't have to go through the extensive crash testing and dot certification. And the reason they use the trike design is to be able to enclose the rider and make the vehicle useful even in bad weather. Quote Rich http://tiny.cc/CM2j8
