Planey Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I am at school using my school-supplied laptop. It is a very good HP 6730b but maybe something is not loading up properly. I am now about to go home - I will try again on my ancient Dell desk model. Will see if that works any better. Planey Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Success!!! My old home computer had the Donate button with the little credit card pictures below it which my you-beaut school laptop did not show. But then I had forgotten my PayPal password, and then my Email browser (Thunderbird) decided it could not connect to my server, and so on and so on... After phone calls, downloading software, emails and about four hours, I have finally managed to make a donation. What an operation - but it was worth it for Pam. TreeOfLife Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Hi Club Adventist Family Can we help her? I am starting a campaign to raise enough money to at least cover Pam's professional licensure… A loss of her licensure would severely impact her potential for future employment. Not to mention the psycological impact of this loss. So, I am asking each of you to donate as able… Let her know that you are praying for her. All things work together for good for those who love Him. So, give her a vote of confidence and perhaps your favorite Bible verse. A Gift of Real Value and in God’s own time Isn’t it wonderful to know and see how God is giving each of us different means and differing abilities to share of each our unique gifts! Yes, even money! Praise the Lord of Hosts! Acts 3:6 “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” Money can be a great help towards the cause of God, but to use it wisely requires a lot of discretion and careful consideration. All too often money gifts may prove to be a disservice in disguise with less than optimal long term consequences (cf. the Third Angel’s Message…) On the other hand: Gifts of real and lasting value, such as advise pertaining to an improved life style in accord with our beloved Seventh-day Adventist Health Message, may not always be appreciated, sometimes even frowned upon. Sometimes it may even seem as though this latter reaction may be even more prevalent among recipients within our own SDA community. Does it have to be that way? I frequently go to prayer meetings where prayers are being offered in re to ill health of church members. This is good and well. But when I consider whether and to what extent our health message, even such of it as pertain to better and not severed family relationships, is being practiced by such unfortunate members I do wonder why more efforts are not being made towards removing the natural causes of such suffering and ill health (cf. Rev. 14:9-11. Ooops, notice the 9/11 reference!) There is a learning curve for each of us as well as for our people at large. No doubt this is part of the answer to my above questions. Yet, are we really willing to walk the walk, to make a reality of learning and applying step by step and precept upon precept? These are personal questions. Not all of us are prepared to change to a life style which some may perceive as jumping all of a sudden naked into the snow and then stay there and live. Yet, to what extent do we really make serious and continual efforts in small ways towards transforming our lives in accord with such as would prepare us for a reality of the second coming in the here and the now? Do we really believe in the second coming as a real time event? I once read and was very impressed with the life style changes made by Joseph Bates as reflected in his book Autobiography of Joseph Bates. Most impressive! But was it ever God’s intention that the Advent people should stop and stay at the point upon the road to heaven where Joseph Bates and others among our pioneers had arrived at when they left us? More and more I’ve found excitement and blessings in an ongoing journey towards the Kingdom of God. Life is all about the Way being spoken about so much in the New Testament. In the last third or so of my PowePoint presentation [the last item of the linked page] I am briefly sharing a few of the steps I’ve been led to take since being born into a very blessed Seventh-day Adventist home. No doubt many of you, my fellow believers, are having similar experiences as I have. Yet, this is my witness and my gift for Pam today. For of silver or gold I have little or none… Have a happy Sabbath! Shabbat Shalom! Tree of Life Quote http://adamoh.org

Stan Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 The amount of folks pulling together here, sharing funds from $10 to $200 is enough to make a man with a heart of stone shed a tear. Almost every regular poster has done something, I have never seen anything like this, Redwood has several pages of people to thank for their help. The extra expenses will go to cover some badly needed medical tests. Pam, so very many people here really believe in you. One kind soul, just gave her second donation from her emergency fund. Moderators Nan Posted March 27, 2009 Moderators Posted March 27, 2009 Pam, you are a special person. I am sure everyone who has donated has done so with a prayer that you will be aware of God's leading in this difficult time of your life. Quote

I am not the Bump king. But this one deserves a BUMP. Just look at the effort and time that Planey went to help Pam. Just look at what ALL of you have done for her. It really shows how much we do care for her. This is not over. Others are still donating. Pam has more and more needs as Stan indicated. And don't forget how EACH of us is blessed to see Pam blessed. It is a win win situation. Yes, Like Planey said ... "It is worth it for Pam". Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Woody Posted March 30, 2009 Author Posted March 30, 2009 Thanks to all of you who gave and who will be giving yet. It has touched my heart to see Christianity in action. I think I have thanked each of you by PM but some are not reachable due to being over the limit for PMs. Anyway ... I loved how we all pulled together and blessed and were blessed. God is Good. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted March 30, 2009 Members Posted March 30, 2009 I want to add my deepest heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your support, be it through prayer and/or donation and encouraging words. Thanks to you my license has been renewed, and the remainder will be used to help pay for some desperately needed medical tests and treatment. I have no insurance and am not able to work right now. But having my license will help me be able to pick up a job when I am able. So, thank you again from the bottom of my heart. Thank you, all. Thank you so very much! God *does* work miracles. Have a happy Sabbath! Shabbat Shalom! Tree of Life Since I have little insight into Pam's present and past experience, except that received from Redwood, I didn't find it difficult to determine where the joy of the Lord would be. Not everyone is able to claim the promises at a certain specific time but when it's possible to claim them it's less than helpful to avoid them. "He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he."
