bonnie Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 LOL, its ok you won't get struck by lightening if you say that Obama passed the test. Like all observers here with the exception of one, I believe he did the right thing. The captain, knowing he might never see his wife and children again is the one that acted with great courage. The navy seals also knew going in one of more of them might not go back to their families. They get the bravery award. Obama did the right thing. I am sure he was aware of all eyes on the US after Hilary's comment of waiting on the international community to save one of our own. I am also sure Jimmy Carter was fresh on his mind. Obama is still the same dishonest man he showed himself to be over AIG,the same man in another incidence that was more than willing to put american citizens at risk for for his own selfish reasons. Obama is still leading this country down the path of socialism. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. I have beach towels if anyone needs to mop up the gush. Ahhhh. So you've noticed that also. I have witnessed this gush since the beginning of the elections. Some on this board have turned a blind eye from the beginning to Obama's associations with terrorists and hate filled individuals such as the Rev. Wright. They were determined to make him their Saviour. So 'blind'? Yes. They are very experienced at that. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Moderators Bravus Posted April 13, 2009 Moderators Posted April 13, 2009 I think you'll find in general that those supporting Obama have been willing to also criticise some of the things he has done. Those opposing him have generally been reluctant to acknowledge anything positive he has done, though there have been a few heartening signs in this thread. Probably healthy for us all to remember that everyone is human and everyone has something from Eden and something from the Fall in their makeup and therefore in their actions. Not every president is perfect, not every president is a total scoundrel. What I see is a lot of opinions posted here on the forum that are based on.... what? I have tried to base my opinions regarding our nation's leaders on the founding documents that established this government and how it is to be run. It is not a reluctance, he has done nothing positive. Unless you are referring to the pirates. He stayed out of their way and that is as he should have done. Wonder what he will do about N.Korea. Any thoughts on Biden using a thinly disguised warning to Israel? many would like to see Israel sit back and do nothing. Any thoughts on Obama's silence and lack of outrage towards Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac retention bonuses.Totaling more than AIG? His list could go on for a long time. That has remained unanswered except for "get those vulgar rich" What has he done beyond that that is good for this country? Tax cut that amounts to about 8.00 a week. The mega money give aways. The rewards for lying homeowners? Maybe someone can give a more specific of his accomplishments. Woody Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 Okay ... I will join the crowd and try to find something good about Obama. Let me see .... Well ... at least it doesn't seem that he has wondering eyes in the Oval Office. That I do appreciate about him. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Taylor Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Yeah! Good job Red! Yes I do really appreciate what appears to be his family values and how he seems to genuinly adore his wife and kids...not having wandering eyes for other women. That is something I also appreciated in Ronald Reagan and some other past presidents. Quote

Woody Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 You know ... we had the opportunity to elect one of the greatest American heros of our time. We lost that opportunity. We have had other "true to their wives and families" presidents, and yes George W. Bush, after he overcame his alcohol problem, years ago, seems to have been above reproach as a great father and husband. (I personaly don't think anyone who drinks...is a good role model..but I am glad he got the victory over that.) It was not intentional to leave him out. Remember, I voted for Bush. Quote

Dr. Shane Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 There is a little story about when GW was working on his dad'd campaign in 1988 and an attractive, female, campaign worker hit on him. He offended her with a vulgar response and she complained to another campaign worker. The other campaign worker asked GW if it was true. GW defended himself by pointing out that he was married. The other campaign worker responded by saying the female campaign worker was very offended. GW replied, Good. Then she got the message. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor...
