Brother Bob,

You can find the statements at: www.spiritoftruthministry.net

I will tell you that we (me too) totally agree with ALL of the ten commandments and ALL of the words (testimony) of Jesus as given to us by His eyewitnesses.

Dr. Rich

Commandments of God and testimony of Jesus are one in the same.

Not saying this or that - as who knows? but do dreams and/or 'visions' originate only from the 'light side' - or can they, y'know, originate from those without 'standing' :( ...that is, those from the 'dark side'?

>>They come from both areas.<<

Indeed, so much so that the very elect may be deceived. However, that said,

I believe we are in Gd’s time when He will begin to manifest ‘miracles’, prophesying being but one of those miracles. It, however,

behooves us to remember that Gd also said He manifests miracles to validate His workings and messages (to wit: the Exodus, the Christ becoming Immanuel Jesus, etc). [/paraphrased]

During the ministries of Jesus Christ and that of the Apostles miracles occurred as commonplace. Still, we must remind ourselves that soonest – St Paul could not even heal himself; and so it remained for the most part until the present.

( Something in these messages steps on “their toes” or they have a boss telling them to reject this ministry “or else”.)

This is not a criticism, for even long treatises are used by God to reach some. Just think of the sermon on the mount.

Taking this post of yours as an example, Bob, how many people would you guess will arrive in the kingdom as a direct result of putting this series of "the proper way to determine whether Christ's coming is near"?

There's no doubt of the balanced and thoughtful way you've arrived at your conclusion to enhance one's certainty in recognizing whether false or true information is being given. However I would suggest, at least from the company I keep, There is not one in 100 who will, even if they study the post you've written, remember the steps considered to be most conducive to discern between true and false (or misleading) guiding information.

May I suggest a more simple "formula".

"...guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long." Psalm 25:5 NIV

"But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come."John 16:13 NASB

I guess it was St Fortunatus who had my backside when I utilized the term “may be deceived”, rather than ‘will be deceived”, yes? :-o

All true - all true.

But I post those ten points because I am very familiar with the standard arguments against accepting a prophet - and I like to be able to refer back to the post saying - well that objection would fail 3 of the ten tests that are posted.

And if you think about it - most of those items are just common sense. I provide the Bible texts and Ellen White references in case someone has trouble seeing the point -- but none of it is rocket science.

False prophets are to be rejected (I think all actually get that point). And 1Thess 5:19-20 says that we are not to quench the Holy Spirit by rejecting the prophetic messages of those true prophets that HE sends our way.

Kinda neat that the same Holy Spirit inspiring 1Thess 5:19-20 is also the SAME Holy Spirit sending us true prophets with His messages for us.

No wonder HE tells us not to Quench the Spirit by rejecting HIS messages.

At each key transition point in salvation history - God sends prophets. (Like a canal pilot for an ocean going vessel).

So the prophets he sends are not only to make us aware of the times - but the very existence of their own ministry is ITSELF one of the signs of the times!

Secure From Satan's Seductive Delusions.—Men may get up scheme after scheme, and the enemy will seek to seduce souls from the truth, but all who believe that the Lord has spoken through Sister White, and has given her a message, will be safe from the many delusions that will come in these last days.--Letter 50, 1906. {3SM 83.5}

1. Accept God’s modern prophets in obedience to scripture.

a. 1Thess 5:19-20. 1Cor 14:1, Luke 16:31, Zech 8:9

2. Accept God’s modern prophets – benefit  survival

a. Prov 29:18 where there is no vision

b. 2Chron 20:20 so you may prosper

c. Amos 3:7 Be in sync with God’s current work – immediate future.
