In the 1990's the church decided to dump the three angels logo and opted instead for the "eternal flame" idea of the greeks. Then shortly after that -- in 1995 - they invited the Catholic Church to participate in the GC quinquiniums to prove just how far we have gotten away from the 2nd and third angel. Actually they did not tell the artist to pick the eternal flame -- they simply said "anything but the three angels". Now it is facinating that a denomination that is SUPPOSED to be uniquely positioned to preach the "everlasting Gospel" found in the Three Angels Messages as "present truth" would be telling the artist "anything but the three angels". So my question for the group - does ANYONE still have a copy of the Three Angels logo for the denomination?? Why have a logo that represents the messengers rather than the message? The three angels are the messengers. The cross, the Bible, the flames are the essence of the message. Personally think the logo looks "dated" and I wasn't much of a fan when it was first unveiled but I'm only 1 of several million Adventists. I can live with it. Seeing how it isn't 7 AM yet here in Hawaii, I am just catching up to all that has been said. Our church decided to put a rock face on a portion of the church facing the highway and we were thinking we would like to have a cross or something attached to that rock face. Then one of our members suggested the three angels and we kind of like that. The Catholic church is right across the street with its cross. We could again show our uniqueness. We'd light it, etc. Dale Quote

But as something to mount on a wall and maybe have people look at it and at least wonder what is up with that? I like the three angels better. Now if I could just find somewhere to get them. Quote

What i was hoping that someone out there has the three angels on their church and could say where they got them, so that we didn't have to reinvent the wheel. For all the controversy even this little thread has seemed to stir up, maybe we'll just go with a cross. I can't believe some of it. Witches??? come on now, really! Quote

knockkneedchicke Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I am dissapointed that we lost the 3 Angels Logo. When I travelled that is how I knew which was the SDA Church. The new one reminds me of the Methodist logo. I wonder why they thought they needed to change it? Quote
