Plants have to bloom before they can make seeds. Maybe what you mean is that it might dry up before it blooms? I doubt that. It's looking pretty healthy in the pictures.

Yes. We are just now starting to see small flowers it would appear. At least Blanche calls them flowers.

I will post a picture when they start to get bigger .... if they do.

And the "plant" IS getting taller. We notice it every few days.

All plants have their own timetable for blooming. That even includes cultivated flowers. In fact, some flowers don't even bloom their first year. Biennials grow only the plant the first year, which dies down over the winter. Then the second year, they produce flowers and seeds. Carrots and onions are two examples of biennial food plants. Queen Anne's Lace, which is actually a wild carrot, is also a biennial.

I have a sad announcement to make. I guess all good things must end. And this saga is about to end.

Just when this beautiful creation from God was beginning to flower ... Blanche put an end to it. She recruited several members from church to come over and take care of this.

We are no longer in the 'weed' business. The members arrived with chainsaw, machete and shovel. No Dynamite. Okay that may be stretchin' things a bit.

But ....

First of all they strangled it, decapitated it and then dug it up from the roots. And now we have a large pit in the ground.

For some reason. Blanche determined that this was a weed about to proliferate.

BTW, what did the church members do when they found out about the poppie flowers and the operation....??

I did not strangle and decapitate it. The members did. So when they saw our little 'operation' ... they were not in the position to condemn.

I had a weed come up in my front yard some years ago. I didn't pay it much attention since I pretty much live in the woods anyway. By the time I started paying attention it was too late. I cut it down a few times, but it kept coming back. finally I just quit messing with it. Today it is the shade tree that covers Mr. Murphy's dog house, and part of my front porch. (Just left of center close to the porch.)
