bonnie Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2009/11/top_ten_reasons_black_america.html November 17, 2009 Top Ten Reasons Black America Fears Rush Limbaugh Lloyd Marcus I am a black man who, since 1993, has been a regular listener of the Rush Limbaugh radio program. I must caution black America. Be afraid, be very afraid of this powerful white man. Regular listening to him could be devastating to the psyche of the 96% of black Americans who voted for Obama. I have compiled the following Top Ten list of reasons why. 10. If you want to believe blacks are eternal victims in America, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh. 9. If you do not want to take responsibility for your life, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh. 8. If you are a dead beat loser who voted for Obama in hope of him redistributing what others worked for to you, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh. 7. If you believe blacks can not achieve without lowered standards and intervention by government and liberals, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh. 6. If you believe blacks who speak English correctly and are self sufficient are traitors, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh. 5. If you believe black liberal Democrats (Sharpton, Jackson, Waters & Co.) are your friends rather than your slave masters, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh. 4. If you do not believe self respect, pride and true self esteem comes from personal achievement, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh. 3. If you want to hate your country and believe it is the greatest source of evil in the world, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh. 2. If you want to believe rich white racist Republicans are burning the midnight oil thinking of ways to keep black America down, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh. And the number one reason black America should fear regularly listening to Rush Limbaugh; they will become ditto heads. Lloyd Marcus (black) Unhyphenated American Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
Woody Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Excellent Bonnie. I really thought that it was good. And I highly recommend it to all of my black brothers and sisters. I especially liked the last part ... Quote: Lloyd Marcus (black) Unhyphenated American If ONLY we could unhyphenate more blacks this way. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. A white person posting this comes off as degrading. Really? Which of the statements do you consider degrading? At present I no longer work so have lost touch with black co-workers. At that time, most that I worked for would have said a very LOUD Yes to every thing Rush said One of the most "racist" if that is a correct word for this was a black woman that had no patience with a view that a black person should have "special" treatment. She would have cheerfully taken your head off verbally to even imply a black person should be any different or treated any different than any other person. Nor did she have any patience with those of her race that were always "whining" about race. Her words not mine Besides she was a Rush listener. I am white if that is important. A white person posting this comes off as degrading. It's irrelevant as to whether Bonnie is white. Circulating a list like this in relation to rush Limbaugh shows that this person is just trying to make a name for himself. Rush Limbaugh has the same problems that plague the black community, drugs, multiple relationships to name a few. Rush does not speak as someone who has found healing or victory. He is cynical and nasty. He know how to make money doing it. To hold him up as an example as someone to listen to is just plain weird. Has Rush even talked about how to maintain healthy relationships? "I'm too much in love with myself." "If you want a successful marriage, let your husband do what he wants to do." "The love had just vanished. We're still friendly." Oh, he was only joking! Many a true word said in jest and let's not get into the drug issue. Let me repeat and clarify. Certain white folks like someone like this guy because it helps them to validate their foolish assumptions about race. Listen to Rush Limbaugh, Really? I would prefer if he said Glen Beck. Beck talks honesty and seriously about addiction, healing and family. I have a lot of time for him when it comes to those things. Everyone should hear Glen Beck when he talks about that. Dunno about tacky. I prefer direct. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. Dr. Shane Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 It's irrelevant as to whether Bonnie is white. I couldn't disagree more. If a black man comes in and says "Hey, blacks should listen to Rush Limbuagh because Rush cares more about lifting us out of poverty more than our black political leadership does." That is going to come off as a black person being compassionate toward other black people. When a white woman comes in and says, "Hey, if blacks would only listen to Rush Limbaugh they could get out of poverty while the black political leadership only wishes to keep them down so they can use them for political power." it comes off as very insulting and degrading. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted November 19, 2009 Administrators Posted November 19, 2009 ...Let me repeat and clarify. Certain white folks like someone like this guy because it helps them to validate their foolish assumptions about race... BINGO! And the fact that a white person posted this and other white people applauded this demonstrates how desparately out of touch, racial ignorant and insensitive far too many of us white people really are. What that list tells certain ignorant white people is "WOW, what we think of black people as a group must be correct because here is one of them that even agrees with what we think of black people." Let me spit back the list with what it says about "Black America": Quote: 10. Blacks believe they are eternal victims in America. 9. Blacks do not want to, and do not, take responsibility for their lives. 8. Blacks are dead beat losers that only voted for Obama in hope of him redistributing what others worked for to you. 7. Blacks can not achieve without lowered standards and intervention by government and liberals. 6. Blacks view other blacks who speak English correctly and are self sufficient are traitors to the black cause. (And most blacks actually speak that way.) 5. Blacks believe that liberal Democrats (Sharpton, Jackson, Waters & Co.) are their friends rather than your slave masters. 4. Blacks do not believe self respect, pride and true self esteem comes from personal achievement, i.e. they are lazy. 3. Blacks hate our country and believe it is the greatest source of evil in the world. 2. Blacks believe rich white racist Republicans are burning the midnight oil thinking of ways to keep black America down. 1. Blacks are just different from white people and don't ever agree with or like white people. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

Moderators lazarus Posted November 19, 2009 Moderators Posted November 19, 2009 Political commentary ALWAYS includes commentary about morality. Limbaugh is at the heart of the social issues movement in the GOP. He is the face of the morality crowd. His morals are certainly questionable. A more relevant comparison would be a math teacher who says learning your times table is a fundamental skill but yet does not know it themselves. Quote: First, I have never heard Limbaugh say anything racist. Second, even if he did, who am I to judge the motives of his listeners? Where have you been Dude? [To an African American female caller]: Take that bone out of your nose and call me back. Limbaugh has called Obama a ‘halfrican American’ Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it. The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies Some people listen to talk show hosts to validate their opinions and beliefs. The Limbaugh crowd is no different. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. bonnie Posted November 19, 2009 Author Posted November 19, 2009 Quote: BINGO! And the fact that a white person posted this and other white people applauded this demonstrates how desparately out of touch, racial ignorant and insensitive far too many of us white people really are. Ignorant and insensitive? Maybe in your world. I think blacks or any racial minority is made up of people just like the evil whites. Some are can do and work as hard or harder than many of us to be productive, raise a good family and not burden everyone around them because of their skin color. There are whites that make a career out of being victims as will, probably just as many. I don't have a lot of patience with any that subscribe to that, regardless of their skin color or gender. I have a group of friends that my husband refers to as the "motley crew". From a lesbian couple that are the best friends you could possibly want to various skin colors. We are friends not because of our differences but because we share the same core values. As for attempting to degrade those of another skin color you could not be more wrong. Life is not fair and never will be,no matter what your skin color is. If you are mentally incompetent or physically disabled you may have a reason for not improving your life's situation. Otherwise you need to get off your duff and improve. Those of another skin color do not have a monopoly on hard times or being ridiculed for things out of their control. There are many whites that know what it is like to be hungry, cold, scared and blamed for what they cannot help. The poorest regardless of skin color are wealthy compared to many that have gone before that did not make victim status a career The "freed" slaves should have been the most worthless, lawless, and dependent era of the black race. You don't find that in history tho. They were remarkable for their desire to work and provide for their families The Jewish children surviving the holocaust should have been some of the worst. Excuses are made today for children that shoot up schools because of their background. By that reasoning the Jewish children should have been a collection of murderous thugs. Those coming out of the depression and living in terrible poverty by today's reasoning had every reason to turn to crime. Again you do not find that Quote: What that list tells certain ignorant white people is "WOW, what we think of black people as a group must be correct because here is one of them that even agrees with what we think of black people." You are not very good a mind reading, maybe stick to your day job. What I think of black or any skin color is the same. The list pretty well describes several friends of mine regardless of their skin color. Quote: Let me spit back the list with what it says about "Black America": Well,in this you are right. It says to me black america can do anything I can do.Probably more depending on individual talents. If there is any racism here, you come across as just that. I expect and believe regardless of skin color, black america can do anything I can do,as well as any minority group.I don't expect them to be less than I or any white person. I don't believe they are incapable of personal responsibility. You seem to Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make.
