Dr. Shane Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Political commentary ALWAYS includes commentary about morality. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Dr. Shane Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 To be racist is not merely to make a reference to race. It is to indicate the superiority of one race over another. I disagree. I believe being racist means judging other people based on the color of their skin. These types of judgments may or may not lead to behavior. Let me ask this. Is it racist for me to donate money to help a minority group build a church because I believe them to be too stupid and ignorant to get good enough jobs to be able to afford to build their own church? Moderators lazarus Posted November 19, 2009 Moderators Posted November 19, 2009 I believe being racist means judging other people based on the color of their skin. These types of judgments may or may not lead to behavior. That is prejudice. Pre-judging on the basis of race. That is a little different to racism per se. Quote: Let me ask this. Is it racist for me to donate money to help a minority group build a church because I believe them to be too stupid and ignorant to get good enough jobs to be able to afford to build their own church? The attitude is racist, of course. The act in and of itself cannot be racist. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. Dr. Shane Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Seeing the quotes would you now agree that he said some racist things? Having listened to Limbaugh for almost two decades I have a pretty good feel for his on-air personality. I have heard him discuss the context of some of those quotes. I don't think he was making any racially motivated judgments at all. Now, where Limbaugh is really wrong is on his ideas of health and exercise. He simply doesn't know what he is talking about in that regard. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Woody Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Limbaugh doesn't have a racial bone in his body. It is all fabricated hype. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
