As far back as I can remember our family pretty much had Turkey for Thanksgiving. We had Brisket (Beef Brisket is a cut of meat from the breast or lower chest made popular by Ashkenazi/European Jews. Brisket is a popular Jewish holiday main course usually served at Rosh Hashannah, Passover, and Shabbat.) for New Years, and maybe Pot Roast or something like that for Christmas. Since my father worked for the butcher's union, we always got the best cut of any meat.
