Moderators Gerr Posted January 25, 2010 Moderators Posted January 25, 2010 My wife went through a little Job-like experience when she was left to sell our house in CA. I feel more kinship with Abraham in my experience than with Job. No, God did not ask me to sacrifice my one and only son. But I did wait longer than he did to receive the answer to my prayer (but not for an heir). Quote

Guest truthseeker007 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I feel like Job all the time, but unfortunately this is not a test. I think it would have been better if i wasn t born. I mean, i will never have the power to give the world good things and the world never has the power to close the hole in my heart. Only God can do this, but i think by my constant sinning i ve scared the holy spirit away. It s the most terrrible thing, to be left alone in sin knowing there won t ever come brighter days. I have been alone for so long now, it must have been about 5 years ago when i knew what friends were. I mean i haven t had friends for more than 5 years now... So i am living day by day, watching the world pass me die. Everyday is like a suffering. And after the suffering;....hell. Quote
Moderators Nan Posted January 25, 2010 Moderators Posted January 25, 2010 Truthseeker, I think the fact you are here, looking for answers, wanting to relate to God, is evidence you have not "scared the Holy Spirit away". It is the Spirit Who plants these desires in your heart. I cannot give you answers, and probably cannot say much that will help...but I do very sincerely believe what I just wrote. Quote

LifeHiscost Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 So i am living day by day, watching the world pass me die. Everyday is like a suffering. And after the suffering;....hell. I doubt that I've been through half as many negatives in my life, or half as severe, as most of the individuals posting on this thread. But I do believe my ability to see past the events to something better, before knowing Jesus for myself, was because someone was praying for me before I had enough wisdom to pray for myself. Subsequently it was certain promises given by the Christ to those who had potential to enter into His kingdom, which excludes no man, woman, or child, that convinced me there will never be anything except death without Jesus, that would disallow permanently anyone the joy of communion with the Son of God. He loves all, that much. "Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25 NKJV "...in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."Romans 8:37-40 NKJV "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 KJV "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."Matthew 11:28-30 NIV JOY!!! oldsailor29 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Well, it looks like religion is no longer a forbidden topic in town hall? I should feel like Job when I state an absolute truth. Everybody who thinks they know truth should feel like Job, and especially everyone who thinks they know an absolute truth. We do not know the truth. We do not know any absolute truth, and that is an absolute truth we can all know. Job 38-41. Have we also started discussing politics here? So when someone responds in a rude, mocking or aggressive way, I can only conclude that their theology is "lacking"... Not necessarily.. sometimes we can't see the forest for the trees.
