Why are so Many Women Unhappy?

Saying 'happiness is a choice' does *not* mean that we will stop trying to improve people's circumstances. There is definitely happiness in serving, and in looking outward away from our own concerns, and working to help others is an excellent tonic.

The point is made by these survey data, though: womens' circumstances have improved and they've become less happy. So we should *both* improve circumstances *and* teach people to be happy. It's definitely *not* a case of 'be happy in your miserable circumstances that I will now do nothing to alleviate'.

i dont that "circumstances" have improved for women, just opportunities...i would say...

Teresa got it. Tongue-in-cheek reaction to Stan and what he was responding to in the two posts of his I quoted... But more to the point, all that served as an interesting juxtaposed punctuation to my reaction to what seemed to be the article's conclusion. You had to have read the article...
