Woody Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 Here we go again. Another storm. Praise God for my 'good' neighbor who is over here clearing it for me again. I'm sure Olger will have some appreciation for this little 'toy'. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Guest Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 What's colder, being with some friends watching the super bowl in an igloo, or watching the super bowl alone in your house while making your wife angry with you? Let me guess which one you did. Quote

Members phkrause Posted February 17, 2010 Members Posted February 17, 2010 I just heard from one news station that Hawaii does not have snow as of yet! I thought someone mentioned that all 50 states got snow this winter? The news anchor said that there are some very high mountains there but they do not have any snow on them. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. karl Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 I just heard from one news station that Hawaii does not have snow as of yet! Skiing in Hawaii? Mauna Kea, on the Big Island, is the only place in Hawaii where you can strap on skis and hit the slopes, but you'll have to be an experienced skier and also pretty well prepared. There are no lodges, lifts, or equipment rental places on this mountain. You'll need a four-wheel drive to get you to the 14,000-foot summit, as well as a dependable buddy to pick you up below. A local ski tour operator can help you out with complete package tours on snow days. Skiable snow is intermittent December through May, but most likely in February and March. Often, when snow is present, howling winds prevent skiing. When conditions are right, the experience is awesome. Quote
