Administrators Gail Posted February 16, 2010 Administrators Posted February 16, 2010 Is there a time to stop dyeing your hair? Like when your face looks much older than your hair does? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Administrators Gail Posted February 16, 2010 Author Administrators Posted February 16, 2010 I wonder if this subject comes under the "Christian Dress and Adornment" category... Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Liz Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 I don't know, I have seen some much older ladies with a soft color put in, and it looks nice. Not the blue stuff though, where do they find that color? I have never seen that color on the shelves. I think it looks bad when it is so very clearly a bad dye job, too bright or brassy to even attempt to look natural. My mom stopped dyeing hers a couple of years ago, and she went white, not gray, white. I never really liked my natural color so I have been dyeing mine since I was twenty. Not sure when I will stop. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted February 16, 2010 Members Posted February 16, 2010 Do you know why women's faces tend to wrinkle more than a man's as they grow older? It's because the bones of the face in women start to shrink and as they become smaller, more wrinkles develop. Also, did you know that hair dye has been linked to Alzheimers disease? I read that in one of my medical journals. The darker the dye, the higher the probability is for Alzheimers. Just some trivia. Quote Pam      Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Administrators Gail Posted February 16, 2010 Author Administrators Posted February 16, 2010 What happens to men's bones? Are the women's bones shrinking connected to the reasons they get osteoporosis? That's interesting! I never heard of that before Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Coloring of hair..."VAnity! Vanity! All is vanity!" So, maybe I had better be quiet before those females in the Administration office come after me....a "more salt than pepper" haired individual.... Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted February 16, 2010 Members Posted February 16, 2010 Isn't it strange that men look distinguished with grey hair, while grey hair on women merely makes them look old? That's interesting! I never heard of that before Men get osteoporosis too, especially men with prostate cancer who have been treated with estrogen-based drugs. I know men's bone's shrink too, but not to the degree that women's bones do. Not sure about the facial bones of men. If they get smaller, it's to a much lesser degree than a woman's. Another interesting sidelight is that one's ears and nose never stop growing. That's why you see very old folks with big ears. Members phkrause Posted February 16, 2010 Members Posted February 16, 2010 It is interesting, even though we do look older but I guess in a different way. Its actually funny sometimes to see a couple that have been married for 40,50 years and the wife looks half the age of the husband. Not always but I'd say most of the time. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Woody Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Yes. I agree with you pk. And personally .... I usually find that the women are more attractive to me than the men. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology. Â

My ears are heavier now because two years ago my dog accidentally bit my ear and it just continues to scab over and not heal. Are ears hard to heal or why is this. I suppose I should put this in the 'ask the doctor' thread. But you started this topic Pam so I will blame you for me putting it here. HA HA HA !!! Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Outta Here Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 [continue.off.topic.mode]Two years ago?? It's probably much worse now. Instead of putting a question in the "ask a doctor" thread, why not make a visit to a dermatologist and get it looked at. To me, it sounds disgusting.[/off.topic.mode] Back to the original topic. I've never understood why it is acceptable in the Christian community to dye one's hair, or to shave, for that matter. Isn't that a form of deception (or bearing false witness) as to what God created? Quote
Members abelisle Posted February 16, 2010 Members Posted February 16, 2010 Forget all this looking younger. Can someone tell me how to feel younger - about 30 years or so?? Alex Quote We are our worst enemy - sad but true. Â http://abelisle.blogspot.com

Moderators LynnDel Posted February 16, 2010 Moderators Posted February 16, 2010 Another theory why women wrinkle more than men is that regular shaving is said to toughen the skin, resulting in fewer wrinkles. Maybe I'll take up shaving. Re: noses and ears continuing to grow - Oh goody! Maybe this means one of these days I'll have a decent nose. Re: hair coloring and shaving being false witness - Under that same logic, it would be better to avoid the use of clothing because it conceals the real you. Re: hair coloring into the very senior years - A color that looks good changes as a person ages and the skin changes. It is a good idea to consult an expert or someone with a good eye as to what color looks good on you now, as compared to what looked great 20 years ago. LD Quote LD
