Does life have angles? If so, we should look at them. The Bible is silent on Jesus' orientation, so we honestly can't say anything absolute about it. What message does reaching for the Pepto-bismol send to homosexuals? (No offense, Cosmin.) SivartM Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 What "normal" people? You often can't tell the difference between homosexuals and "normal" people by looking at them. This "normal" and "abnormal" talk doesn't sound bigoted at all. Nope, not a bit. :\ What are homosexuals? Mutants? hch Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Birds of a feather flock together. It is not unusual for a gay man to look for a gay man to be his role-model. Unfortunately, it is wrong for a gay male to impute his lifestyle onto the Sinless Son of God. To pervert the reputation of a righteous Man to make Him after your own image. But there is nothing new under the sun. "In that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach." Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted February 28, 2010 Members Posted February 28, 2010 If Jesus was a homosexual, then I don't want to be a Christian, because it goes against everything the Bible says about such things. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

SivartM Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I didn't say Jesus was a homosexual... and even if He was He absolutely did not do anything immoral. doug yowell Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I didn't say Jesus was a homosexual... and even if He was He absolutely did not do anything immoral. I think most of us are using the term homosexual in the sense of how a person responds to the sinful proclivity of their fallen nature. In this case the person who engages the unnatural (abnormal) sexual passion that attracts them. YES? NO? MAYBE? And it has been my experience that the overwhelming response to homosexual BEHAVIOUR in males is moral and physical revulsion, not only by the God-fearing but also the average unbeliever.Men and women alike! The political agenda of people who propagate "gay rights" is not a political agenda at all,it's a moral agenda. Normalize the abnormal, sanctify the perverse, and criminalize the resistant. Now if you're suggesting the possibility that Jesus may have been born with a homosexual propensity,Sivart,(nah, don't think you're going there)? Quote
SivartM Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Of course homosexual behavior is wrong. But why couldn't Jesus have (theoretically, and again, I'm not saying that I believe this) been born with an attraction to other males? Because that would automatically make him a sick pervert? Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted February 28, 2010 Administrators Posted February 28, 2010 Along those lines, how do we explain to the homosexual that Jesus was "tempted in every way, just as we are-yet was without sin"? I'm thinking the response may be, "Oh, really?!?!" Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

Or, maybe "but was in all points tempted just as we are" doesn't mean exactly what some may think it means i.e.that Jesus had to fight against inherent homosexual tendencies. Quote
Moderators Kevin H Posted March 1, 2010 Moderators Posted March 1, 2010 I still say that we need to look at the direction of his life, and Elton John went from someone who was so self asorbed that he would not have cared less to someone who is at least willing to consider these questions. Have none of you made stupid mistakes in your growth? We know that Jesus is the eternal infinite God. God's marriage partner is a relationship with God's people. Sex and the Sabbath are the same doctrine, the two things we got to keep from the garden of eden and the two foretast of the joys of heaven. How human's get intamacy from sex is, in the Old Testament, how God gets intamacy through Sabbath. Thus it is incorrect to lable Jesus as heterosexual or homosexual, but it is Sabbath fellowship with his church. Thus Jesus could not be tempted to marry Mary or anyone else, nor can Elton John's comment be correct. Although in his humanity Jesus was as human as if he was not God, on the other hand he was nothing less than that Holy Thing, in which it Sabbath with his people where Jesus would have had the intamacy. But while I do not know enought about the subject to adiquietly present it; nor am I interested enough on the topic to make it a major study at this time to adiquetly present it, there is some very strong conservative argements out there that indicate that we are taking those texts out of context and thus might be misinterpeting the Bible with our traditional view of homosexuality. Our view of homosexuality may be as unbiblical as the eternal burning hell and sunday sacredness. God tends to like to rase up people for his work from those who we expect God not to be able to work through. What if in the last days God raises up, maybe not another prophet, or maybe so, but a reformer like Luther or Wesley but who happens to be dealing with the "H" question. When we look at prophets in the past we often find equally shady credentials. God seems to like to give us plenty of reasons to reject those he chooses. Even in Jesus' day it was believed that the Bible taught that anyone hung on a tree was only those who God cursed and rejected and it was just as big a scandle back then to die on a tree as it is today to be found in bed with another woman or a man. So the followers of Jesus had to face a scandel just as big as if Elton John's comment was right. Once again please don't go on a ranting and raving mission here and demand me to make a final decision for everyone, all I am going to say is study the Bible. Quote
