jasd Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 QR frame: Under/Overeducated?—wow! I al’ays thought, “mo’ edicashun mo’ bettah”; however, lately witnessing the quality of that emerging from our institutions of higher learning – I wonder... Witnessing the mania at Marion Hall, University of Ottawa over Ann Coulter’s scheduled appearance: stupints inside and out – faces distorted with every mark of insanity – incessantly screaming – with many of those outside carrying sticks and stones – that they might not be larnin’ nuthin’ from free speech on their campus. Thems and their campus -- Sheesh! Following, Coulter made a very incisive and nuanced point, "The University of Ottawa is really easy to get into, isn't it? [...] This has never, ever, ever happened before -- even at the stupidest American university," Aiee-ya! Oh, good on, Annie! Hard times comin’?—gimme good ol’ boys for my neighbours! Re: Doug Batchelor’s epistemology: junkyard full of parts and pieces, mor’n that Brougham at the local Cadillac dealership. So, taking advantage of a ‘clunker’ deal – does one head to the junkyard or to the Caddy dealership to buy his or her automobile? One buys the best assembled. Quote
jasd Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Doug Batchelor does not have an agenda? ...don't give spit for someone got no agenda :( Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted March 25, 2010 Members Posted March 25, 2010 Why is there a trend in Adventism to want people be born perfect (at least when they step out of the baptismal tank) It is one thing with people who are just stuborn and pushing their own agenda. But Doug is someone who has come a long, long way, and shows evidence of allowing his views to be questioned and to grow. I really respect that in him. We need to encourage that in him and not just criticize him because he is not perfect. I don't think there is a trend to want people to be born perfect. Doug Batchelor is a just another human being. I'm sure Doug is grateful for your nice endorsement of his spiritual growth. Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Daryl Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Nothing wrong with a woman preaching behind the pulpit, as even EGW did that. Heaven Bound Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 I am confused about why people want to wear fancy, flashy things all over their bodies. Wouldn't that be like telling God that the bodies that He created for us aren't quite good enough, and they need a little fixing up? I feel that our focus should be on the heart and not the outer appearance Quote just me

karl Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 No apologies needed, you took a stand for the right thing. I admire that. Yeah, but I tend to go overboard. I get passionate about things. Need to take a deep breath sometimes. I appreciate everybody's patience. Working on it. Quote
