Shane: My point here is that the rich pay more tax AND a higher percentage of tax than those who earn less. You seem to be disputing this. If you are not, just say so and we can stop this.

Progressive taxation is just that - progressive. It is not a fair tax. It is one that gets progressively more severe the more money a person makes. It constitutes a penalty on people for being successful. The more successful you are, the deeper the gouge.
